I ordered a few items before March, to fill a few gaps, and ended up returning some of them......I had to return the Gap Carpenter jeans--they are cute but I just know Ill catch the hammer hook on everything!..Also sent back some thick Vintage style denim high waist Levis--the waist was rather uncomfortable in the non-stretch denim...

I did get a couple of nice little items, a kimono top, sweatshirt & cardigan I had been eyeballing for a while. Snake sneakers that are super comfy and Nordstroms made a price adjustment as they went on sale right after -so thats a bonus. I did finally find an Eileen Fisher top on Ebay that I had tried on at the Rack during our Mini-seattle meet up, but they didnt have my size in the store...I love the color!

Sadly, I did order a Universal Standard dress from nordies that went on sale and they shipped the wrong one and the right one is sold out.....that might be all for me for a while.Trying not to spend much currently since the Mr is not working.... I have a pretty full wardrobe, and don't have and real "needs" ....so Im trying to focus on working on house projects, getting the garden in and other non-computer based activities!

Agreed-the irl shopping has not been any fun, even the hardware store :/ I ordered necessities on Amazon, to avoid Walmart, and a few clothes- mostly gear (posted on another thread).

I cracked about a week ago and placed an order for some underwear, a camisole, and a few tshirts for summer. Nothing has even shipped yet - and no indication when it might either. I've kind of lost my enthusiasm for fashion as we enter into another week of just-above-freezing temps and blustery winds.

Jenn, I was just thinking of that - that in a way I'm glad I have 'excess' options for my current lifestyle because the items I'm wearing all the time are getting worn noticeably, and it won't be as easy to replace them in the near future.

Anne, I need new running shoes too. I'm not in love with the model I have now so I'm hesitant about ordering a new pair without having tried them on, but you gotta do what you gotta do...

Rack had the grey of the black NB sneakers I already have, so I ordered them to get another at-home sneaker option. Hopefully they'll be able to ship soon.

Both my pairs of jeans are perilously close to wearing through at the thigh. I guess that doesn't much matter when I'm not leaving the house, and I'm not going to go naked or anything, but managing a small wardrobe sort of depends on being able to refresh regularly.

I also have my eye on a celebratory white dress for when we can go out again. Definitely not an essential or a "need," but something to look forward to.

The item on my pre-existing shopping list that I am thinking about is new running shoes. I am running just as much as before. I have some gift cards so I don't even have to pay for them, it's a matter of how much credence to give to that inner voice that's saying 'you may need this for food/kids stuff later'. Cf helping the economy though.
I am not a keen shopper at the best of times, so haven't missed shopping and have not been doing it online.

I'm still sticking with the list I had back in Dec/Jan, but a bit re-prioritized. I've been WFH since March 13, and it seems likely that my "new normal" whenever that starts, will not involve being at an office five days/week. My original list included gear, two summer work dresses, one pair of jeans (all replacement items), and *maybe* fashion sneakers and snake print booties.

After a month of slippers, my feet rebelled. I've also realized that I'm harder on shoes than I thought, and that I do need to prioritize them, since they wear out much faster than my clothes, even with care and re-heeling. So, following Angie's lead, I moved fashion sneakers ahead on my list, ordered, and they and have become my "inside only" shoes for the time being. My feet are MUCH happier.

Gear also moved to the top of the list. For me, it functions as gear, lounge wear and yard work, and my minimal and very worn capsule wasn't quite cutting it with near daily walks and more time for yard work. So, like kkards, I noticed a discount at Athleta and ordered a pair of pants and shorts, using the slow-ship option.

I had been contemplating an Elizabeth Suzann dress, ever since Jenn first mentioned them. When ES offered a sale, I took advantage of that, with a dress that ticked all my boxes- washable, natural fiber, and a classic cut that plays with volume. I doubt I'll see the dress until at least July, but that's fine. I won't need a second "work" dress at this point, since I doubt I'll have any reason to be in the office more than 1-2 days/week.

Jeans are on hold until the fall. Kids will likely need new shorts and sneakers, and we'll assess DH's closet again over the summer. That will probably be about it. No real changes to my plan, but, this was already going to be a low-shopping year for me. The few purchases have made my safer-at-home life much easier to manage and they bring a smile to my face. There are some house repairs I want to tackle, as well as donating to our local food bank, so we'll be able to focus on those priorities, too.

I haven't shopped for my wardrobe in 6 weeks. Focussed on life's essentials like most people.

My lack of shopping is not at all unusual! I shop early in the season and am done way ahead of time. So there are months in the year where I usually do not shop: June, August, November and December.

I shopped yesterday and pulled the trigger on some sale stuff. EVERYTHING is on sale. My word.

Sticking to my usual shopping list and strategy. Doing my bit for the economy too.

I haven’t been feeling the shopping either. I did buy a hoodie, and yesterday I heeded some good advice I saw to take advantage of sale prices and get a jump on dwindling supply chains to stock up on basics that may be boring but necessary. I placed an order for my favorite underwear, and added another hoodie (in a color I love that’s not easy to find) and some summer-weight pajama pants to the order. Oh, and two wireless bras to try, because I’m wearing out my “lounging” bras. I think the underwear turned out to be $6-10 a pair, pj pants were like $15, hoodie $25, etc. So the deals were very good, and these are basic essentials that are not fashion so much as necessities, to replace ones that are wearing out.

I have some purchases in my closet from TTBQ (the time before quarantine) that I haven’t been able to give a fair evaluation. Two pairs of black boots and two pairs of snake print sneakers. I’m not sure what their fate will be, and whether/when returns will be possible (all Nordstrom or Rack items).

I bought 2 pairs of pants from Athleta when they ran 30% off, I Had lightweight summer office ok pants on my list, and these seemed to fit the requirement.think these will also be good if I don’t actually get back to an office this summer. They are delivering today. Also, I’m walking so much now, both for exercise and for a way to get out of my house, that I ordered a pair of sneakers when Nike was 25% off. (On my iPad so cannot add a find)

In anticipation of high summer, I ordered a couple of linen pieces from an etsy seller back in early February. My order has been stuck in customs for a few weeks now... I have replaced some makeup, and my two boys will likely need shoes before end of summer, but otherwise, I feel set.

I do love browsing online, and I have been pinning outfit ideas. It looks like I will be chained to my computer for work, so it doesn't make sense to add anything right now.

A surprise coupon from Nordstrom came today and has me thinking. Even with a big edit, I really don’t need anything that I can think of. I would like wide leg white crops to replace some I had to pass on, but they need to be pull on rather than a fly. But I’m itching for something new. Most I am attracted to is too dressy or fussy for my casual life style.

I agree with Sal about not feeling like shopping. Although it is odd because I feel like the past 4 months have kind of been training for this time! I am feeling like overall I had been somewhat wasteful for years, buying too many clothes. And since 2016 have had several months-long shopping fasts. This time, since 7 December I have obtained:
1. Specs, in January, to get a new prescription and because my other frames were scratched.
2. A pair of loafers ordered just before/for, my birthday in early March. These were a one-in, one-out with my well-worn ( over 100 times) flat black booties.
3. A gift from my sister, sent from England, of a faux fur jacket. You will get to see it when our weather is colder. Not worn yet. Such a lovely gift!
I have, like Laura, still enjoyed some browsing of clothing on the internet, or more to the point some shoes! I also miss browsing in B&M stores which was a relaxation thing for me. I think what I enjoyed was more the getting to see a range of types of clothing in the different stores and get a feel for the colours and ideas, in a way that I don’t really get from websites. I wouldn’t necessarily at all want to buy the things. I hope not to be buying too impulsively almost ever again. Been there and done that too much in the past with it not working out for me.
Laura, I love Skechers. My 2019 ones which replaced my 2010 ones are just so comfy! Good for walking.

Our online shopping opens up next week - we think.

On my winter list are a raincoat, gym leggings and a merino hoodie. I have a fiftieth birthday in June and might buy something significant for that.

I spent time upgrading my work capsule but given the situation I will pause that for now. Stage one is complete and sufficient for my needs given conferences have been cancelled.

I may upgrade my practical boots. My current pair are a style that I haven’t liked for three years but they are in good condition and comfy.

Laura- I also haven’t felt like spending and feel even more strongly about spending it in the right places now. I will have less disposable income to spend so I want to make it count.

I'm pretty well set myself, but need to replace/replenish basics for DH and DS. Underwear, socks, pajama bottoms (DS wears holes in the knees, especially now that he gets dressed several hours later if at all, so I buy batches of leggings to supplement his PJ sets). DH will need new running/hiking shoes this summer now that his office shoes have been shelved in favor of slippers and trail runners. These are all things I'd buy online anyway, so I'll order from the same places as I would have pre-pandemic, assuming they're taking orders.

I've been S@H for nearly a month now, with only trips out weekly-ish for groceries/needed supplies for myself and my parents. The other night I had a nostalgic dream about browsing the shelves at Target! I've also watched a lot of QVC - not a completely new habit for me, but definitely more hours than I used to. I miss being able to browse in person. Even when I've gone out at the grocery/hardware store I feel rushed and anxious, definitely not the same experience as before.

I've held off buying anything online for now but it seems like the delivery services and warehouses have mostly caught up from the big rush in late March. So I'm starting to think about what I've found would be useful to have in our current circumstances. Clothing-wise I'm in pretty good shape, although I'd love to find a light wash pair of jeans with a loose fit that works for me - I've been looking for that each summer for the past three years!

Around Christmas I ordered two pairs of "everyday sneakers" and they've proven really handy for my new at-home life. I really can't go shoeless or stay in most slippers for very long; it makes my plantar fasciitis act up. I think I need to add more in this category. The NB ones I bought are in Finds; they look great but are somewhat underwhelming support-wise; the Adidas (

https://www.adidas.com/us/clou.....X0377.html ) are more cushy and supportive but the light color gets dirty easily. I've also got a couple pairs of older Naturalizer slip-on sneakers but I'm finding them not as comfortable as they used to be. It could be them getting older, but I think I really prefer a lace-up (or faux-lace-up bungie) style to keep them from slipping around on my foot these days. I think I need to add a gray pair and a navy/blue pair to my 'stable' - I'm considering the Skechers here (https://www.qvc.com/Skechers-G.....ml?sc=SRCH) or maybe trying Allbirds Tree runners; Sal's pair looks really cute on her. Anyone have a pair they'd recommend?

I'm thinking of ordering some masks - my mom and I made a bunch to give to family, neighbors, and a local hospice that needed some for visitors. We kept a few for ourselves but are completely out of elastic now. The bookstore where I work considered trying to reopen a bit next week (which I thought was too early myself given our location/current infection rate) but the county they're in extended the SIP order through the 29th. When we go back to work, though, I'll likely need a few for work and running errands, and having several might be nice for laundering purposes, especially if I'm wearing them all day and not just an hour or two at the grocery.

There's a lot of discounts happening at retailers right now, but I'm not finding that very motivating. Ironically, I've been saving money the last month having not needed to buy gas to get to work, and curtailing all purchases except food. Anyone else thinking about future orders or what they might need soon?
