Do what you're comfortable with! I love seeing people's faces, and I think it really helps to see the whole picture, but I don't post my own because I am interested in maintaining some semblance of anonymity.

I also tend to leave my head out if I have wet hair. Mostly because it throws off my coloring, and makes me look more washed out because my hair is darker when it's wet. I'll also leave my head out if I'm taking pictures at the end of the day and look either exhausted or disheveled (or both). Our faces can really make or break an outfit.

I just keep my head down or turn to the side. It's more because I don't like how I look in my pictures. The lighting is terrible and I'm usually pretty disheveled and tired.

My personal philosophy is that if you want anonymity or if you're concerned about stalkers, don't post pictures. Just chopping your head isn't going to prevent people from knowing who you are. They'll know your body and more importantly, they'll know your clothes! Not to mention you will assuredly leak some personal/private details about yourself at some point, like what city you live in or what your profession is...and in many cases you might even be using your real name as a username. Masking your head or face isn't really going to help.

I have done a lot of thinking about this and come to realize that the odds of me having a stalker or being "caught" by someone I know are pretty minuscule...but I don't want to increase the odds by posting daily WiW's or anything. I only post when I have questions or want to confirm something new that I buy.

I crop out my head if I'm not happy with my facial pose, but most of the time I do show my face. I guess some might fear or have had prior stalker issues so they leave off their face/head. I know when I link to my photo on flickr (instead of posting it directly on the thread), I can see the count of how many views that photo got and it's a lot more than the actual commenters, so that sometimes gives me the creeps as to who is actually looking at the photos.

I don't post my face but it's more because I'm not thrilled with my make-up/hair and I'm often too lazy to fix myself up before snapping a photo. I often take them while getting ready but before I am "done" prior to leaving the house. The photos help me fix up an outfit while getting ready and I tend to dress before finishing up the rest of my look with hair and make-up. Otherwise I prefer not to show my face since I gained weight and you see it most in my face so it's not a favorite feature at the moment.

I chop my head off if I'm having a bad hair day.. LOL
But seriously, it is up to you if you want to show your face or not.

I totally understand and support anyone who would rather not show her face - but - I have to say - I always find it very disconcerting to look at a person with a blurred oval instead of a face! It kind of creeps me out - it's like I'm looking at an alien. (Not that aliens don't have the right to fashion advice, or the desire to look stylish.) I love Bella's solution of wearing huge sunglasses.

But still, I would never want anyone to post their face if it makes them uncomfortable!

Its OK either way - just depends on whether or not you want your face to show! Personally, I like the ones with the faces a whole lot better, than the ones without because it makes it so much easier to "get" the outfit. The eyes, haircoloring and hair style make such a HUGE impact on the outfit - I can't imagine really giving/or getting a comment on an outfit without the "full-disclosure" of face and hair!

I think some people just don't want to have their face on pics avalaible to all and sundry on the net, because of privacy reasons. If you show your face or not is your decision. I think it's okay either way.

Before I begin posting photos, I would like advice from other members on the proper etiquette, particularly when it comes to showing the face / head. I have noticed that some members show their head in the photos they post, while others do not. Is there some rationale behind this, that I have yet to discern? Are there good reasons one way or the other? I am ignorant, so please advise!!!
