I tend to think of RATE as a basic part of my style, whereas these shoes look baroque to me. However we label things, that meeting point of funky/tough and elegant does tend to appeal to me, particularly in shoes. That said, I was thinking more of pink shoes (rose/blush, not bubble gum/Barbie) when I saw these. “Is it irrational shoe love” is a very good question. I know I’ve wanted more variety in my footwear, especially since my Pikolinos were stolen. I don’t mind wearing black any time of year, particularly in Berlin, but I like the metal bits on these, have done well with most other shiny/metallic shoes. Thinking through what I’ve been wearing this summer, they’d work well with pretty much everything but the jumpsuits. I may have just sold myself on them. </p> <p>Star, you enabler!
