I'm trying to hone in on my list a bit more per Angie's instructions and be more specific. I guess today I'm thinking through why these things even work for me. Maybe this isn't my list yet. I need to think it through.

~Trousers: navy cropped ankle pants every day in summer and fall, worn with wedges or tucked into boots, and navy bootcuts. I have black bootcuts to wear in winter, and burgundy skinny jeans I like to wear tucked into boots in fall but I don't consider those essential. If something happened to them, I'd just continue wearing navy bottoms and not mind that much.
~Sheath dresses: knee length, floral, cotton, skimming in fit, NOT body con, easily dressed up or down depending on shoes/boots, worn all year long, nipped in waist, no gathers or pleats, go-to for church or events.
~Ankle length a line skirts and knee length a line skirts: substantial fabric, NOT jersey, solids and patterns, no gathers or pleats (that's important, I don't like how skirts with gathers look on me). Go-to staple for church and events and usually worn with navy, blush, or ivory tops.
~Woven round neck navy short sleeve tops. Maybe this is a category I just like, wear almost daily, and have a lot of, not an essential. Because lately I wish I had v necks in florals (I do have one maternity top in a v neck and floral, it's great). I do know that I vastly prefer woven tops with a skimming fit over knits, especially figure hugging knits.
~Wedge sandals: navy and rose gold, daily footwear in summer/spring.
~Tall boots: brown, streamlined, knee length, comfortable block heel. Can't really get dressed in fall or winter without these.
Cardigans: lately, long and brightly patterned or colored. I have a whole bunch of the shorter cardigans not being worn. I would have considered them essential last year. I just never got dressed without one. Maybe my denim jacket is going to be a new essential.
~Maxi dresses: empire waist, but not too many gathers, round neck (I like v neck but that's hard to find in that it's often too deep or too wide for my narrow shoulders), brightly patterned, jersey. They're a pregnancy essential. I don't know how I'll feel about them afterwards, since I'm usually not a fan of jersey. These ones work because they give a long flattering silhouette and are not fussy in any way.

I have to run to a dr.'s appointment. I really appreciate Angie's guidance in the posts and forum and reading everyone else's lists. I'm behind on that, but consider it valuable. Blessings.
