Lucky you - success in one outing!! Plus at their sale prices you can still stalk black or whatever you might still need!

Looking forward to some pics too!

Well I just got back from Esprit and guess what? I had SUCCESS! i did find their sizing all over the place - I'm normally a 10 in Gap, Talbots and ON but I fit everything at Esprit from an 8 to a 12!!! I was disappointed at the selection in the store - they have much more available online but I found a lovely pair of grey tweed fully lined trousers (they were on sale for $25) and a pair of dark brown trousers. I like the rise of both of the pants and how they sit, there are no saggy crotch issues and the butt area fits very well. The grey tweed ones are a slightly menswear inspired look with a borderline slouchy front but I love them. I may need to get my tailor to put in a wee dart just to make the waist a little smaller. The brown ones need no altering in the waist and both pairs need hemming (of course). Sorry I didn't get any pics in the dressing room - forgot my camera.

BTW - had the most annoying SA EVER and at one point had to actually ask her to back off a little and give me some breathing room. She also started bringing in a bunch of jeans and shirts when I had explicitly told her I was looking for work pants....aarrrghhhh.

As Jyoti just referenced, I just tried on a bunch of pants from there. I found the quality to be pretty good for the sale price. The pants I showed were $16-$20, and the $20 pair were lined. The plaids aren't lined up at the seams, but I wasn't expecting that for $16; the fabric was soft.

Shipping was very fast; returns are free and they send a return label.

It would be more efficient to shop on-line as I find pants hard to fit. I wear an 8 in AT, occasionally a 6, and the 8's seemed the best fit.

Please report back, I hope something works for you. I never thought I had thin anything, but maybe my calves because they have zero muscle tone?

I had some great Gap pants about 5 years ago (tweed and wool partially lined, fit great, wore well not flared) Haven't liked any of their pants in the last few years for me.

Thanks Rae - it sounds like a few folks have had issues with the slouchy pants! How frustrating for those of you who love them and want them to work! Think I'll nip to Esprit before the football playoffs come on - check out a pair or two - never hurts to try. I sure wish we had a BR here though.

I was between my normal size and a size down, and didn't end up keeping anything. BUT I was only looking at the slouchy styles, and I think it's just that particular cut that wanted to ride up my calves and thighs.

Jsloane - wow, thanks for all of the information. That is very helpful to me. I did laugh at your "I do not work for them" - I'm like that with Gap! i actually tried on dress pants at Gap Friday evening and hated them all. I used to love their trousers but they've changed the fabrication and they felt cheap and fit across the behind but gave me major saggy crotch!

I've been experimenting with them alot since they have been having 40% off online (includes outlet and sales) and free returns. I found prices in store a few dollars more, but the selection was slightly different (didn't have any of the outlet items I had ordered) The sizing is a bit all over (I have an 8 a 10 and a 12 in 3 different pants that all fit) , but they do have named styles so once you figure out which one works for you it might be easier. I'd heard to size up but I'm between a 10 and 12 in Gap and BR and a 10 in AT and LOFT so it's not that off for me. My advice since you can get into a store try lots of sizes and styles. I wear 12 in the Dover Straight fit luxe tweed WQ3031 (these are fully lined, but I think the EDC line tends to be unlined), 10 in the EDC chino slim fit - VSC103, 8 in chino regular VSC170 and 30/10 in Regular straight jeans XQC094(could probably go down a size as well - they stretch a little). I've been very happy with the 2 pair I've kept so far and LOVE my jeans from them. I most like that they aren't cropped or ankle length.
I added the style numbers so you can search (their direct links don't work) Oh and I do not work for them

I kept the plaid slouchy pants because I got them for an amazing price. I had to size down to a 4, which the salesperson told me is unusual for Esprit as they tend to run small. The quality is more juniors than Nordstrom - no lining, kind of cheap tailoring - but leave no retain stone unturned!

Isis and Jjsloane have posted some photos of themselves in Esprit pants. I don't own anything from there, but you can check the above thread for how some styles look on real people, and possibly ask them both questions about quality, experiences and such!

I know many people (including Angie) recommend the BR Sloans for work trousers and I'm in the market for a decent and flattering pair of pants for work. But sadly we don't have a BR anywhere near my home town so would have to order pants online. But I thought I'd exhaust local stores first where I can try pants on firsthand. We do have an Esprit here - does anybody have any experience with their dress pants?
