Never got espadrilles to work for me tho love the look; combination of having a longer big toe and largish feet. I'm a Vans lace up canvas shoe fan.

Looks like this espadrille idea may be a good one. Lots of styles around and many not expensive. looking like fun shopping, and a good way to add some colors in my spring/ summer footwear. here are a few selections I am loving on Amazon. all come in several colors. Not ordering anything just yet, but dreaming! After my development of the little bunion and the big shoe purge last spring, I stuck to more conservative shoe purchases, black, cognac, bone, navy and white loafers. Now for some fun color in shoes

I bought these in navy recently, kind of a sneaker hybrid with the espadrilles jute detail around the sole. I've always liked the sandal version, especially with a wedge, for summer and I've seen several versions around.

For me they rarely last longer than a summer, maybe because the fabric just ends up looking worn fairly quickly.

I've seen a lot from designer level to much cheaper.

I'm lusting after this espadrille sneaker hybrid

http://www.barneys.com/stella-.....38;prefv1=

But for regular ones I wouldn't spend too much as they wear out fast.

I just bought these patent and cork Clarks espadrilles. I wanted something for weekends that was a little dressier than a sandal but not TOO dressy. I am planning to wear these with capris and boyfriend jeans.

Sorry I seem to be touting Zara a lot lately, but I've been looking at
these (#1). Unusual to have an ankle strap on an espadrille, but could solve
that falling-off-the-foot problem. I think #2 and #3 are kinda kick-y,
too. Possible the leather ones would hold up a little longer, but you really can't expect to get more than one good summer out of espadrilles, in my experience.

anyone looking at espadrilles for spring/summer? since I have been so unsuccessful in finding slip on sneakers that stay on my feet I have given up. also not much luck in finding leather peep toe sling backs at an affordable price in my size that are not too high heeled. started browsing Nordstroms and NORD Rack and thee are so many espadrilles, flat, laced, heel heights from flat to 4", with loads around 2 1/2 inch heels I an going to be trying them on this next weekend. Since I am not really into the latest trends, especially in footwear, where what fits my lifestyle and feet are top priorities, these may be my best choices.
