I more of a fan of her recent works - especially Folklore and Evermore. I have always been obsessed with lyrics and I think she is an amazing songwriter - even in some of her earlier songs that I find slightly annoying musically. I took my 8 and 10 yr old daughters (and hubby) to see the movie and had to work hard to hold back tears when the concert started. After thinking about it for awhile (and reading some opinion pieces that gave me clarity) I think I understand what makes me emotional about her. Here she is this mega star and yet she celebrates being a girl/woman without denying any of her girl/woman-ness. She celebrates her "silliness" as a teen and her full emotions as a woman. That was not something I saw or felt growing up. I saw that a woman could be whatever she wanted but in order to do that she had to hide some of her "woman-ness". So as a mother of young daughters, I celebrate everything she represents and am so thankful my daughters have someone like her to look up to. And, let me be honest, I probably play her music more than anyone else in the house.

Really love all of the thoughts and feedback here, and multi-generational admiration and luv for Taylor! She's a once in a generation phenom I think. I feel that way about Lady Gaga too, to an extent, but she's veered into cosmetics now, and that lost me a little bit.

My favorite albums are - no surprise, Folklore and Evermore. I also really love Reputation. I wasn't that blown away by Midnights. The early stuff, for me, gets pretty repetitive after 3+ hours!

10 years ago I got concert tickets for my sons - someone help me, what was the 2013 tour? AMEX had a members promotion for early tickets, and I asked the boys if they even liked her (hahahaa) -I remember waiting over an hour on the phone, with my older son's help until he said, "Mom, I have to go to class now,..." and dropped, while I hung on till my turn. He'd forgotten all about that day when they opened their joint Christmas gift a month later. Nothing like the meltdown of the Internet this year!

Brooklyn, the sheer devastation in our house when we tried in vain to get tickets lol ... It was bonkers!!

We did see her in 2018 and I had gone for DD but was blown away and was converted to Swiftdom. She can morph from full blown pop star with elaborate sets and dancers, to girl with guitar, mic and just a spotlight, seamlessly - and captive a stadium the whole time. Incredibly talented!

I agree with Suz and Brooklyn :)

I don't listen to Taylor Swift's music, yet have great respect and admiration for her extreme talent, intelligence, confidence, energy, tenacity, grit, business acumen, and work ethic. She is the biggest star on earth not because of a good dose of luck! ;)

Saw the Taylor Swift "Miss Americana" documentary during the pandemic and loved it!

I think I will ask my kid to go with me. What a fun tiime you had! I've been listening to Taylor lately to find out what all the fuss is about. I find the themes of the music repetitive (and the music itself, too) but she's bright and often funny, and repetitive or not, the music gets you moving. As Brooklyn says, she's really a modern icon.

I love Taylor too! Even though I don’t know much of her music, I’d love to see her concert. It looks like such an amazing, joyful experience. Unfortunately the tickets sold out in 2 seconds flat. I am seriously considering naming my next dog after her, if I ever get another. She is a modern icon.

I went with DD last weekend and we had a blast!! I love Taylor ... And I agree its quite an experience of "joyful chaos" as she calls it, to see everyone singing, dancing and having fun in such a positive way

We went to see the Eras Tour movie last night with our son, a dedicated Swiftie. I am a fan of Taylor Swift, via our son mainly, and have become fascinated by her business acumen and self-made success. I don't love all of her music, but I think this amazing production can be admired by even the uninitiated. And she is just... nice. Her fans are legion and dedicated!
As I watched dozens of young girls joyfully dance and sing for 3 hours in front of the screen, observed a few grown up girls night groups, and a relatively full theater a week after the movie's release, clapped and cheered (at a movie!), and was literally moved to tears a few times - it occurred to me that this is a singular event, much like lining up at midnight in front of Barnes & Noble for the release of Harry Potter books when my kids were young. I doubt it will happen again (other than for Taylor).
Danny made amazing concert t-shirts for his friends when they went to the concert in Boston, and gave me one. I'll have to model it here when I get home.
