I'm understanding that this is your first, so I'd get something really different. It sounds like you have white/cream, so I'd do the teal. It goes great with black or denim. It's actually a lot closer to turquoise than teal. Honestly, it was so much lighter that I actually didn't see it at first and I had to check the tag to make sure that I was looking at the right one.
