Your hair is looking more dramatically asymmetrical at the moment, Jaime. It suits you EVEN better.

It would be very handy if you lived next door. Then we could share our shoes. xo

First of all thank you! It is always a bit scary putting your picture out there isn't it?
#3 - I thought so too! In theory this jacket should work closed and tied - but I need to do a better job tying and tugging and not with such an attention grabbing blouse I think. It is leather or leather like Sharan, but not high quality and rather stiff.
Mona, Harmonica and KKards, Shirley, frannieb I think this blouse might be one of my wildcards in the end. Thank you for helping me appreciate it!
Carter, I think the belt could be removed, but I have a yen to style this belted. You see I have no waist so this is the closest I can get. I should see if it can be removed and then put back, because the jacket would be much easier without it.
Angie, thank you for your asymmetric hair appreciation. It makes sense with my asymmetric face! You nailed the shoes exactly - they look retro because they are retro, or at least not very recent. But so well made and fit so well, that I hold on to them. I think I can remove the tie - hmm I wonder if I could replace it with something softer like a ribbon for further experimentation. And Angie thank you for always sharing with me a warm smile too!
Destri, indeed, I must figure out that belt!
Suz my hair is embarrassingly easy to keep up. I wash (with conditioner) run some curl product through it with my fingers and let it dry. I make up for it with skin care though. I find this bag much easier to deal with than a soft hobo, of which I have carried many. Because it is stiff and vertical things stay more or less in place. Well except keys.
Sharon thank you! I do love that coat!
Ingunn thank you for the lovely compliment - particularly nice coming from someone with so much style herself.
jackiec - I am encouraged you like the Ferragamos, I must try to wear them more. I like my actual WIW best too.
Caro - thank you. My hair has never been so popular!

I really like your casual tomboy-chic style. The final outfit that you wore is terrific. You put together pieces that have quiet beauty on their own, where they all contribute to a subtly rich look. The olive and citron is a fun look, and I like both footwear choices with it. I agree that I prefer the jacket open, but I think if you get the tie to hang more smoothly, the closed option would look just as nice. Is the tie leather--is that what makes it difficult?

It's such a treat to see you WIWs! I love #3 too. I think the colours look good on you and the asymmetry of the open jacket and the rolled jeans give the arty edge that I associate with your style.
I think #5 is fab too. The black contrasts with your hair and gives the outfit such a dramatic feel and the coat is amazing.

So great to see you post, and I am just WOWed by your hair. It is fantastic on you! Is it fairly easy for upkeep? I adore the way it works with your curls and highlights them while also drawing attention to your eyes. And how did you decide on this particular cut?

I really like #3 a lot. The colours look fab on you and to my mind it's great with the loafers and the jeans rolled a bit. Beautiful lines.

Today's outfit is equally fab! I have always liked that shape of bag-- at least in theory. I like it on me, too, and used to own a very similar bag from Roots. But the darn thing was a bit like a bucket bag in its capacity to be a black pit of "where is it???" Then again, I hadn't hit on the idea of organizing things in little pouches back then -- I might have better luck with a bag like this now. Hmmm.

I love your citron blouse outfit -- #3 is my fav too followed by #2 (I think there is a way to tie the jacket so that the tie lays more symmetrically) . That is such an interesting and less common color combo. #5 is sharp too! Very well done.

Welcome to Team Citron. (We are a jolly lovely bunch).

*smiling*

LOVE YOUR 'DO. Sooooo sassy. You were made to wear that asymmetrical look.

I like #3 best too, Jaime. Gorgeous. The flow of the lines and proportions look best to my eye. Can you remove the waist tie of the jacket? Those loafers are deliciously Retro, and what a great tone of cognac.

And #4 is a fab look. Go Team Scrunched Jeans. xo

Today's outfit is spectacular! Really like this a lot on you. For the ensemble, the belt on the jacket feels not quite right to me. Is it possible to remove the belt? I like everything else about the jacket, and it would be much easier to style without the belt, I think. Love the citron blouse, and the Ferragamos needto come out to play more often.

I haven't posted a WIW is a bit but it is time to get back in the saddle. Angie's ensemble last Friday spoke directly to at least two lonely pieces in my closet: a Yigal Azrouel thrifted silk (let's call it citron) blouse and a olive jacket from the Italian brand Lola (second hand also).

Why I bought them aside;
The citron blouse was one of those things that I feel compelled to buy when thrifting - designer, silk, unusual, and in good condition. Whether I will eventually keep or sell it is another matter. But I wasn't going to let it just sit there.
The jacket, on the other hand, was a decision made on the basis liking the shape on me and thinking that is the closet I am going to get to a belt over a jacket. I knew the brand because it is sold in pricey boutiques Israel, although it is hard to find anything on-line about it.

Anyway, I tried to put this together a few ways and it definitely needs some tinkering. For one thing, my belt tying abilities are non-existent.
I varied the way I put the jacket and blouse together in #1-3. I also attempted to put into use my cognac Ferragamo loafers (thrifted over 2 years ago and waiting still for their moment). I think boots with a bit of heel would balance things better, but I don't have a cognac pair. #4 is just to show what the blouse looks like, which I would not wear without a cami.
Just for contrast, #5 is WIW this morning (same Vince second hand jeans), Zara sweatshirt, IXOS boots (second hand), Yohji Yamamoto jacket (second hand), Dooney & Burke wine bottle picnic tote (second hand).
What do you think of this combination? Are these colors all wrong on me? How would you tinker? thanks for looking!
