For years now, I haven't clicked any photos of me. Sometimes there were a few odd photos for birthdays and anniversaries, but not always. My friends from school n college have complained often that they don't get to see me at all since I rarely ever post pictures on Facebook, but I've always been very self conscious and kind of camera shy. </p> <p>What didn't help matters was that when I was newly married and crazy happy, I would often click picture and share them on social media. What I'd hear more often than not in the comments section were things like: </p> <p>1. 'Oh...you've gained/lost weight' ----seriously, I mean people are truly weight obsessed. </p> <p>2. 'Wow. I'm so jealous of you coz you're in xyz place' ---- on almost all travel photos, no matter how uninspiring or unexciting they looked</p> <p>3. 'You're so stylishly dressed! How many shoes and bags do you own?! What do you do with them?!' ---- like seriously!!! Why can't I own tons of bags and shoes?! </p> <p>4. 'Damn. You look tired and your skin is all puffy and irritated' ---- thanks, like I need another reminder on a public forum. </p> <p>4. And my personal favourite to top the irritating annoying list -- 'Oh my god, your husband is so tall and handsome! Have you considered losing weight?' --- this one always irks me beyond words. Do I have to look like a supermodel because I married a good looking man??? </p> <p>So you see, I just stopped clicking photos. Why put myself through such misery! None of these commenters cared that I looked well, happy and healthy. All they cared about is how different I looked from school/college. </p> <p>I can't remember the last time I took photos. Most of my photos are pretty old. So much so that I haven't even recharged the batteries for my camera in ages. </p> <p>Thanks to YLF, I'm enjoying clicking picture of myself again. And it surely is fun! Thank you guys! </p>
