If I like it on the last day of winter then I think it’s good to go as beach readiness is not high. It’s fairly plunging but good at the sides and underarms. I have taken out the padded cups- I never like how they sit on me. The waist definition hits me at the right spot and it feels great in the butt and tummy. The black one was a bit short in the body and the straps felt wrong on my shoulders. The blue was more flattering by 100 percent!! And I love cobalt blue in the beach- and it will work with my two beach cover ups too. Swimsuits in your fifties are a funny thing - it’s a fine line between alluring and practical and appropriate. I kind of learnt the hard way-by getting it wrong.  I have been to funerals in an outfit that felt too evening, and another one where I felt underdressed.  I also went to a professional work meeting underdressed in the past - I felt so uncomfortable.  There are times when it is unavoidable due to budget or situation - but I now like to be a bit more organised. I can see that colour working brilliantly for you. Super with your hair and some of the other colours in your closet.  Tracking seems to have netted you some really interesting information! I'm glad. As for the boots, of course you need them! Your wet winter is probably as long as our hot summer here and the idea that I would go the summer without practical sandals is -- well -- impossible to contemplate! As for going without practical boots, that was something I stupidly tried to do for ages in Ontario. Face palm. What was I thinking???? To be fair, I had uber practical GEAR boots and then city booties -- but neither worked well enough for my more casual but not hiking/ snow-trudging, which taught me an important lesson I have not forgotten. Hence, the items below, which work across different situations in the wet and cold. My list is professional work meeting, on site client visit, client dinner, funeral, girls night out These are occasions when I like to have the right outfit to wear and it could be at short notice. It’s probably the biggest reason tracking doesn’t work for me—the periods when I set something aside are much longer than a month, so I’d have to track for years before I could say if I was “done” with an item.
