I don't have an embroidered backpack (yet!), but this one at a Sportsgirl (a local retailer) took my eye. It just seems like a fun and inexpensive way to pick up the trend. Tempting. I also would consider doing applique, but I think getting the placement right (if you have multiple motifs) could be tricky. I was thinking about embroidered appliqués, and went down that rabbit hole on Etsy. This look reminds me of the 70s, and back then people did their own embroidery.
