How are we doing? I've been off the booze since St Patty's, which is my longest stretch in quite a while. Eating has been mixed, but getting better, and I'm not feeling hungry, so I think I'm training my appetite back to where it should be for an inactive, middle aged body. But the continued inactivity is an issue I need to work on!

I'm in! I've got a 10k in 2 months, and have been horribly sidetracked by this relocation business. 2014 was to be a banner year for performance for my triathlons, but now I'm struggling just to keep up the minimums.

I'll do the races I'm already registered in, but allow that this year won't be stellar. On the other hand, I couldn't be happier about the move, and in the long run it will support my (and DH's) fitness lifestyle goals.

So, in light of my first event the end of maya, I will follow an 8 week program that should provide sufficient tune up for the event.

Good luck to you all, and your fitness goals!

TraceyLiz, vertigo sidelined me seriously, too! Anyway, I'm in too! I am gradually working toward more than 3 days a week of high intensity intervals on the treadmill (HIIT on the TM for short). I keep re-starting weight training over and over, I only really could stick to that when I convinced DH to do it with me and so far, that's been a no-go. But I know I would get fitter faster if I could commit.

We often wind up eating on the road, if we don't manage our schedules well, and I'm really trying to a) buy organic, and b) cook or prep more meals at home.

Oh, and when I buy them and eat them, I remember that I really LOVE Granny Smith apples. It's just that I go for spells when I "forget" that and wind up looking around for sugary or cookie or candy type snacks!

So, every one of you YLFers are not svelte and gorgeous as you look in your WIWs??? You could have fooled me!

Mary K, it's so nice that you had that time to spend, you and he will treasure it always.
Deb, I'm very happy you are joining in.
Diane, I feel like being healthier makes our daily life much easier.
Kim, most of us can, glad you are joining in.
K, I'll check out healthy habits tomorrow.
Jules, embracing the healthy is all about the little tweaks we can make to be a little more healthy. No obsessing needed.
Viva, boredom can really mess with our health goals.
Adorkable, I'm feeling a bit sluggish too and I don't like it.

And another one. Not about weight for me so much as feeling better overall - before I started the last six weeks of working two jobs, I decided that I would eat what I felt like and not worry about working out simply because of time. It was a good decision in terms of not judging myself, but I do feel a bit sluggish, and I'm not crazy about that! Now that it's over, it's time to eat/exercise for energy and not just to get through the day.

I'm in, too. I don't have any work travel on my schedule which means a lot of time working at home alone and extra marketing, and that means the potential to be bored, frustrated, lonely, and tempted. I can use the extra motivation and support. Thank you!!!

Yup, I'm in! Not interested in weighing myself or obsessing, but I've sworn off booze for a month (until I go visit my BFF for her 40th end of April), and am trying to be much more concious about what I eat. I was indulging to the point of not really enjoying it anymore and that's where I draw the line - time to break the habits. Next step is getting back to the gym, hopefully next week.

Check out Healthy Habits. We start the post on Sunday for the week and talk about what we did the past week and what our goals are for the second. Most of it focuses on diet (not like Atkins, but more like making healthy choices) and lifestyle.

I really need to do this as I've got a ton of new work come in and if I don't get healthier I won't be able to get through it. I need to try to make time for a bit of regular exercise and make healthier eating choices.

There's a whole lot of rumbling about weight going on so I'm issuing a challenge. your mission, should you accept it, is to embrace the healthy. We did this at my job. I'm gluten free, for Celiacs- not weight loss, so I'm not really dieting. I am trying to make better food choices, like fruit for snacks.
I've declared April my personal fitness first month. I'm cutting back on working to focus on becoming more fit. I worked 80 hours last week and have averaged 65-70 hours, and that just hasn't left me any time to work out.
Anybody up for embracing the healthy, fitness first?
