Marin, that is exactly what the site was designed to address - a place to consolidate/dump all the phone pics, camera stuff, emails, stories, etc. in a way you can't do on FB. Hope you check it out and find it useful!

So cool. I have friends that do this but it just isn't in me to be so organized. I do do photo books (blurb) every year for my kids birthday. My oldest's 5th birthday was the first time she seemed interested in the photo book. My youngest is still doing the 'great now where are the toys move'. I put in little stories or funny things they say. I never thought about getting input from grandparents.

Deb, Don't stress about what to say and it doesn't all have to be sentimental. Funny stories of your childhood or what life was like when you where a kid would by great. I would love to have notes from my grandmother about anything really!

Una, thanks for the link. I am going to check it out. The yearly photo book is kind of a nerve wracking scramble to but together. I need help consolidating all the little bits I accumulate, maybe the site will help.

I have created email ids for my boys too :). I put in pics and videos that I treasure of them in there. I am going to give them the passwords whenever they are ready :)

I would ask my mum to write to their email ids too! What a fantastic idea Deb :). I didn't quite think about that!

My friend has just started a website called MyBabyFace that is designed for just this - it's like a combination of Facebook and an online scrapbook for photos, video, and stories of your kids. You can keep it private or let others access and add to it. It's at mybabyface.com if you want to check it out!

Mo, that's a great point I hadn't thought of. So whoever sets up the account needs to login periodically to keep the account active.

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but my alternate yahoo email was deactivated due to non use. Less than a year, I'd say.
I'd write the note and save it on your computer files.

I was thinking of doing this for my kids too. Very cool idea. Don't stress too much over the words. It's the thought that counts.

My daughter and son-in-law have created email addresses for their two boys. They will give them the address and passwords when they turn 18. I love this idea and home Yahoo email is still around then in some form or another. Anyway, I just composed my first email/letter to be read in the future. It feels really weird. I wrote Owen first because he is the oldest and had a difficult time figuring out what to write. I will write to Gavin a little later tonight. I certainly hope I get better at it and it get easier. It really seems silly stressing out over words that will be read thirteen years from now.
