Thanks Angie, that does make more sense! It also explains why I could never figure out where I fit.

Thanks Nicole! I am going to try to do the leggings thing more often after all this positive feedback! My baby is almost exactly 8 months now.

Hi Ellen, just wanted to chime in and say that you look great! (How old is your baby??) Anyway, the only outfit I don't care for is teh grey dress with the jeans. For some reason it looks better with the leggings. I think it may be too long with jeans, but leggings look more like tights, so it works better. I love the jacket in the last photo. and i love the short sleeved darker tunic you have on with leggings. Great look for you!

yooohoo. Sorry for the delay, Ellen. Thanks for posting pics!

You're a rectangle with a bust which is not common for this body type. Does that make more sense?

Ellen, you must have lost some more weight since your last posting! Well done.
I love the grey tunic top and the grey dress particularly!

I am hopeless with body type, but it does seem to me that you aren't very big on the bottom so I might be more inclined to go rectangle. I can see why people are suggesting hourglass though! Wonder what Angie will say

Angie - would you say I am an hourglass? I am struggling with that idea, since I have always had trouble finding my waist in clothing and gain my weight all there - I guess inverted triangle or rectangle make sense to me. I'm sure these ladies are more familiar with the body types than I am, but I'm still surprised by the hourglass answer!

Thanks for the help everyone! It's good to see this through others' eyes - very helpful!

Straight hourglass... it's funny, because I have never thought of myself as that body type. Maybe it explains why some things I think should work for my body really don't?

I agree that the light gray dress isn't the best, but I think I'll hang on to it because it's comfortable and easy to care for even when a baby messes it up! I will try to wear it with leggings more. I've never worn this look out of my house, but with all this encouragement, I think I will now!

I hadn't worn the jacket yet, but it's heading into the fall so I will now. I just needed some confirmation on it, I think. It is actually a blue-grey with almost imperceptible widely spaced pinstripes.

And Inge, wooden bangles are SO perfect for that tunic. Can't believe I didn't think of it. I'll get some and post a pic. (By the way, I love your name - my aunt is named Inge).

The jean skirt is from Gap, got it this spring and I've gotten a lot of wear out of it. Unfortunately it's getting a little loose b/c I'm still losing baby weight. I'm going to keep trying to wear the cuffed jeans - I love them too, just don't want to kill anyone!

I am 5'10 (my whole family is tall... my sisters are 6'0 and 6'2!).

Hi Ellen. I'm also guessing straight hourglass and you have a great figure!

I really like the denim skirt, with the sweater and the shirt underneath: preppy in a fun way. And lovely skirt, do you mind me asking where you got it?

And I agree with Tanya: you do the dress over leggings look VERY well. (beautiful tunic by the way). Bright scarf, shoes or bag, sounds good. Or how about some (wooden) bangles in brightish colours?

And if it's not a complete safety hazard, I would keep the cuffs on the wide-legged trouser jeans;-) I really like them.

The jacket seems to fit you very well. Is it grey or black, I can't really tell from the picture.

(by the way: how tall are you?)

Ellen, I'd say you are a straightish hourglass or rectangle, but i am sure Angie will solve this dilemma. I like all of your outfits and pieces, very cute and some are quite creative. Love the dress over leggings look on you. The only item I do not care for personally are those jeans with pockets on the hips. But you can certainly pull them of!

Ellen - I don't know enough about body types, so I'll let others answer that. My favorites are the dark gray top with the black stripes and the top you are wearing with the BR cuffed jeans. I think that the jacket will be versatile and it looks like it fits well. The light gray dress doesn't show off your figure as much, but you can probably do a lot with it in terms of accessorizing -- like the pearls which look great.

hi Ellen,
I might be wrong but you look like a straightish hourglass to me. Other ladies will be able to give you a more accurate assesment.
You have a great figure and a sophisticated style. All your outfits create an LLL (long, lean line) which is very flattering.
I like all your jeans, the Mexx jacket looks fine to me (you can do better but I wouldn't toss it). The tops all looked good to me. I'm not a fan of the loose light gray dress, but it looks comfortable. So if you like it, you should keep it. Like the pearls, very nice

I am FINALLY getting around to posting photos! I thought I'd try doing it with a Facebook album because that's the easiest way for me to upload pics. You can see the whole album with comments about each photo and then leave feedback here?

The first two shots are for figuring out my body type (inverted triangle?).

The others are outfits I've either worn recently or have gotten pieces for recently and am trying to put together. Numbers rating or comments are great!
