I bought one item at the outlet-before being called RENEW they used to be called Green, I had no problem with the quality but of course I saw it IRL. I’ve gotten lots of use out of it.

I wear a variety of sizes in EF.

My EF Renew items have been fine but I wish they would give the EF color name and the length. I have bought mostly pants and dresses similar to what I already own.

That's too bad that they aren't describing the condition accurately. I would think they get a lot of returns that way, as well as frustrated customers.

JAileen, thanks for the report! I wonder who is writing the descriptions. I had thought this was like those “certified” used cars where they do an inspection and make sure it hits all the marks, but this sounds more like a shady secondhand swap meet where people can make whatever claim they want. In any event, I’m glad I didn’t follow through with ordering something from them to be delivered to the sister recovering from surgery.

Update: I bought a lambswool doubleface wool charcoal hoodie. It was described as “good as new”. It had a lot of pilling. A LOT. I have a rechargeable depiller and so I depilled it. Now it is as good as new. I have already worn it several times and love it. It fits my real life.

I would say, though, buyer beware. I noticed in the descriptions that things that were described as “good as new” were missing buttons or had stains. I would not describe anything with stains as “good as new”.

I agree, Echo, you said that so well. I wonder if a Renew piece will go with EF pieces I already own. Some things on the site look short, like they have been altered, but it could just be the photo angle.

I've always had to size down in EF, in both tops and pants. I really like that these items are making EF available to more consumers and keeping well made clothing out of landfills. The only disadvantage is that they don't say what the cut on the denim is - ankle length? Straight cut? It would be nice if they gave inseam lengths or stated what the product was originally sold as so one could look up the original description.

I have only had a few EF items over the years, but I found sizing down necessary. They’re such nice quality and the colors are pretty — I’m always a little sad that the cuts and fits are not my best.

I just saw the EF Renew section too even though I've bought things online over the years.

The styles are roomier but it's part of the design, sizing down is a per item adjustment. I've had button downs that were best in a size small but for the boxy knit tops I actually size up because the length in the back is awkward sized down.

Also I wash everything, the linen/cotton mixes tighten up and some of the looser cotton knits get droopy without a little occasional dryer action.

That is good advice about sizing down a bit. Tops are more generous than pants and pants run a bit short, more like ankle pants.
I have pieces that fit from xxs ( tube skirts) to Large ( a chunky wool knit cardigan). Petites are too short on 5’3” me most of the time.

The Nordstrom website suggests ordering one size down if it the first time purchasing EF. I find the clothing quite a generous fit and usually size down.

I have bought several EF Renew pieces and most have been great. I sent something back last year. It was easy and free. I wish that they gave the EF color and not a general color name like blue for all their navy’s so one could get a better idea of the color. Also I wish that they gave lengths on everything, but everything has arrived clean and without odors in like new condition. I am thinking of getting velvet pull-on pants for winter.

I’ve posted about EFR. The clothes are not returns. Certain EF stores will buy your “gently used” EF clothes for a $5 EF gift card. The clothes are then laundered/dry cleaned/ mended if necessary. There is usually a description of the condition.
The only issue for me was was the item didn’t fit and there wasn’t another size to choose from. So I just keep watching!
With free shipping and returns, it’s worth a try.

I just learned about Eileen Fisher Renew, where you can buy used Eileen Fisher clothing. Owning some EF is a minor #lifegoal, and the prices are SO low. I was wondering if anyone has taken any EFR pieces for a test drive, and how worn they might feel.
