Oh no! I don't have any experience with EF but have had my eye on the bateau neck assymetrical tank. I will take a look at content tags first. As a MOTG this would be an issue for me as well. Too bad

It looks like the rayon is the culprit. I normally avoid rayon tops but I guess I had high hopes for EF. I will keep checking out this brand and just avoid the rayon, which I do with other brands anyway.

Good thing I did not buy that tunic, I've had my eye out for it for a while.

The few EF fisher items I have are in silk or silk georgette and wear well. The only (big ) issue I have is with a white silk box top that I adore and have bought twice and it stains horribly and easily.

The rayon blend from EF does pill and that is why I do not buy them often. Her silk jersey, cotton, wool blend are usually great.

Suja - so sorry to hear this. I own this tunic in two iterations: the washable silk which is truly fabulous and the rayon. I do find it pills mildly. I wear a crossbody back and hip belt but have had it about 2 yrs and pilling is minor. I do buy them on super sale so I don't freak out but I don't like this fabric in her line. But that is very fast, so sorry to hear it. Her merino wears well and I have not had problems with anything else but tunics are hard to find so I am still going to buy but I'll stalk the sales.

Oh Suja, how disappointing! Like MuseumGal, my EF pieces are linen, linen/cotton blends, hemp or silk. My two EF dresses though are rayon/Lycra blend and I have had no pilling after many wearings and washings.

I have not had pilling issues with EF, but my items are linen, cotton, and/or silk. What a bummer! Definitely take back!

I usually avoid rayon but I guess I had a lot of brand trust, that EF pieces would hold up. The jumpsuit is viscose. I think of both rayon and viscose as low end fabrics, perhaps incorrectly, but many forum members have the harem pants and I haven't heard any complaints. I'm assuming is made of the same fabric as the jumpsuit. Given the price, I expected EF to be better.

I have the same tunic but have only worn it with long necklaces, not cross body bags (though I do frequently use crossbody bags too). I'm really disappointed to hear this too as this and one other EF items were my first.

I have no input but will be watching this thread.

I just pulled up the link and it seems to be made of a majority of rayon content. I rarely buy things with rayon in them more than 50% now because I find that any continuous rubbing (such as a cross body bag) just makes it pill like no tomorrow.

I recently ordered two Eileen Fisher items, the harem jumpsuit and a tunic. I have heard people on the forum rave about the quality and each piece seems to have a very thoughtful design. My issue is the tunic I wore today for the first time got some horrible piling on it, from just a half a day of mom on the go wear. I went to the grocery store, for a walk in the park with my kids and then back home. There is piling where my crossbody purse hit. I carry this crossbody purse everyday (the coach willis bag) and have Boden tunics that I have washed 10 times and they still look better than the EF tunic did after one wear.

I have the tags and will return the tunic to Nordstrom but I'm wondering if EF quality is no longer what it used to be. One of the things which attracted me to EF was the promise of quality. Did I just get a bad piece? I also have the Harem Jumpsuit which I haven't worn yet and it is made of similar fabric, perhaps even a little thinner. I'm wondering whether I should return that too.

What are your thoughts on EF quality?

Here's a link to my harem jumpsuit post:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....m-jumpsuit
