Thank you, Style Fan, Pree, Suz and Angie for your wise words.

Style Fan, cadevor style isn't for me! I'll be looking for the grey sweater!

Pree, it takes trying a few sizes to see which one is right, doesn't it? The sleeves here are the correct length. I wouldn't want them shorter.

Suz, soul sucking beige is so accurate! Looks lovely on the right person but that wouldn't be me. The architectural quality of this sweater is an acquired taste and not for everyone.

Thank you for chiming in, Angie. I really appreciate the insight. The vote of confidence helps me step outside my style box.

Thank you for your fashion wisdom!

This type of silhouette is beyond body type. The size looks dead right here, and you look fab.

Lovely to see you post! We have some body type similarities so I am especially happy to see this sweater on, since I was also considering it.

I think the drape is fabulous here. I would go for a petite for the length, and also for the grey. This is what we used to refer to on the forum as "soul-sucking beige" -- which of course looks gorgeous on the right person, but on the wrong person (uh, that would be me) literally looks as if it sucks the soul out! ;)

I agree 100% that listening to Angie's recommendations is always a great idea. She knows what she is up to!

JenniNZ, my sense is that this sweater does not tick your personal style preference boxes so it's hard for you to see its merits. It is a mid- neutral (not your preference) and it is deliberately oversized and architectural. From what we've seen of your style, I'd say you prefer your drama to come in colour and detail whereas this sweater's drama comes from its cut. Angie's "Team X or Team Y" posts in the blog archives are really fun for helping people tease out these kinds of things and nail down the details of their likes/ dislikes.

Hi Greycat 6! I tried many sizes of that sweater and I really do love it.
The front draping looks great! I can't tell the seem length since you have them scrunched up. As far as I can tell, the length looks fine. I would need to see a picture of the side/ back to determine.
Only get a petite if the arms are too long in the regular size is my opinion.

I liked that sweater too but I knew I didn't have the right body type for it. I like it on you but I would try the grey. Why look like a cadaver? The petite might be better for sizing.

Thank you, lozz_oz and Riscilla!

Lozz_oz that beige color does make my complexion look like that of a cadaver! Ugh. Tough to get past it. I'll try the gray color.

Riscilla, I completely see the baggie shirt now that you mention it! I'm going to try the petite size. If the baggie shirt persists, I'll move on.

Thank you both for your help!

it's good as far as I can see there 's no as such problem in it. but probably it'll be long overall it is good as it somehow looks like baggie shirt.

I'm with Jenni on this one - for me it's the colour that doesn't do it for me + you comment on it doing you no favours either. Maybe try the grey or keep looking. Just a suggestion

Thank you, Jenni NZ. You have a great eye. I think a bright scarf will do wonders to liven up the neutral colors.

I have to admit the sweater didnt catch my eye until it was one of Angie's picks. Her picks are always worth a second look!

Thanks again for your input!

Hi there I also think it may be a bit long. I think I am bemused by how many of you love this sweater. I can't really see the attraction. I guess it's not bright enough for me. Grey looks better of the two I think.

Thank you, Joy and LauraG!

Joy, I love, love the scarf idea! I have never met a scarf I don't like so I have a quite a collection. I'm sure there is something that will work.

Laura D, your comment about length has me thinking that I should look for a petite.....in gray. The beige does me NO favors! Off to check online availability.

Thank you again!

I see no problem with shoulders or bust, but I think it may be long on you. And you didn't ask, but don't settle for a color that doesn't make your skin glow.

To my eye, this sweater looks great on you. You could use a scarf or jewelry to add color or a different neutral near your face.

As a long time lurker, sporadic commenter and first time photo poster I would really appreciate your feedback on the fit and degree of figure flattery of this sweater. I'm still too shy to bare my face so I appreciate your patience.

I fell in love with the architectural look of this sweater and think it would be a great way to refresh my fall style. I do admire the look of Eileen Fisher on others but it doesn't love me back. I think my body Is the opposite of what her designs are meant to flatter. I'm a slender pear with a small bust and narrow rib cage but with shoulders that give me IT tendencies despite being slightly sloped. I also have a very long rise.

Does the cut of this sweater flatter? Do I have enough shoulders/bust to give it the structure it needs to flatter? The beige color does me no favors but was the only option in this size. The gray shown as a find is much better and is available online. I'm not wearing anything under the sweater in these photos. I would wear a cami or something similar to create a column of color.

I truly appreciate the time you take to comment and your thoughtful responses. Thank you in advance.
