Try tucking in a top into the skirt and adding a belt. It's pretty!

Hi, JoyceB- thanks for commenting!
Angie, I appreciate your critique! I had envisioned a short top for that flowered skirt would turn up everywhere but no deal. I'm considering returning the skirt ( unworn) but afraid it may have been further discounted.
Thanks, Suz-- I can tuck the top but hard to semi- tuck - its high- waisted.
Was hoping to find a not- T top, too.
That GAP top was so random; not looking for navy at all but it's a fun thick cotton-- like Ottoman weave or something.
MsKatieKat- thank you for reviewing! I would not have worn loafers in several previous decades but they're a comfortable option that is having its fashion day, so I've hopped aboard.
It's funny about the silvery gray cardi- usually I don't look at much EF really drapey top stuff because I need more structure, but this drew me in.

I agree with the ladies Just a Suz says, I love the Gap top on you!

As for the loafers, they are considered classics, and I believe they are worth keeping! I'm not much of a loafer person (I haven't found the right one), but a lot of women love them!

As for the EF toppers (OMG so jealous - I want EF!), I would suggest letting go of the white one too. It's the way it hangs on you, and I really think it's the fabric. I think the moto works from what I can see, and the grey cardi is stunning.

#5 and 6: those outfits are a bit tricky due to the orphan skirt. How do you feel about tucking the red top in? I also think a fitted blazer might look better on the skirt outfit.

Other than that - they all look lovely!

Love the GAP top on you. Keep and enjoy! Love the greyish white loafers, too. Don't worry about being "too deep" into something you wear well and enjoy. They are versatile shoes and if comfortable will be very useful to you throughout the season.

I can't really see the details of the Anthro top, but it looks good from what I can tell. Sounds like you enjoy the AT pants, too, and they seem good on you. If you have trouble keeping them rolled to where you want, maybe you could hem?

Can you semi-tuck or faux tuck the top in #5? I think it might work better that way. Skirt is pretty and a nice change for you.

I like both the "moto" inspired EF toppers but not the boxy white one. Something about it feels off, at least in that outfit.

VC dress is great on you and makes a good outfit.

I can see the Anthro top better in the last pic and like it as you are wearing it there. Looks like a nice colour.

Oooooh, you did great. All outfits are winners accept #5 and #6. Proportions and neckline are a little off. To my eye, the top is too long and so is the white blazer. Truly though - you look FAB in the others combinations. Nicely done. xo

True white really washes me out (haha for lab coat) if it is the dominant thing by my face.
Whereas, I can wear a white T with a colored topper and get a good summer look.

It's really just that I find very few white toppers pleasing to my eye - it's not a poison eye, but not a fave of mine in this sort of cut. I would wait for less biased opinions!

Thanks, and good point! I have been having the voice saying, but it's a great fabric, and summer toppers are so hard to find. when my inner voice says, it doesn't look that good on you!

I like everything, although the 5-6 outfit is way out of my territory. If you had to nix one item, I'd say the white linen topper, which is a bit doctor-ish to my eye. Can you be too deep into loafers?

Here is a series of things trying and adding and re-mixing. It is very long !

Things going on:
--more loafers! These in a kind of grayed ivory. This is a good color for me, I think and can go to work or casual.
--Gap navy cotton boatneck top, crazy low sale price and I like it with everything.
--The AT siren called and I got these beige (?) ankle pants in a nice Tencel-type fabric. Just wanted to have fun with that wave for the summer with lighter colors.
--WHBM floral skirt that could become an orphan, but now the loafers may save it. I would definitely wear it with sneakers as a style, but just did not get any this year, so thought the loafers would work. This is intended as just a fun summer skirt, dressed down, and I thought "any top will go with this" but it's not that easy. Have tried to find a short boxy top to no avail.
--Anthro ruffle collar blouse-cardi--
--trying 3 EF toppers--oh boy

1- Gap cotton sweater, AT skirt, DV loafer
2--Gap sweater, AT pants. They "want" to be only one cuff but in some photos I've done 2 rolls (for Angie!)--might have to press and tack down as the fabric is slippery
3--AT pant with Anthro ruffle top--can be worn like a blouse or open as a cardi
4-AT pant with Pendleton silk shirt from last year
5-WHBM skirt with linen top
6--EF unlined boxy linen jacket--Just tossed it over the skirt to show; not sure about it because real white is not my color, but it is SO summery. Has some back darts that give a little shape
7-EF silk pleated pants, Talbot top, EF linen knit cardi, wedge pumps (date night only!)
8-EF gray cotton blend "moto" , Leith pants
9--VC dress "sporty-fied" with loafer. I could wear this to work, I think, since have coat over the sleeveless.
10-Anthro top again, with pencil skirt and 2-tone loafer

Q'S on my mind:
--I worry that I'm too deep into loafers--would love it if they are still working next year. But, these were not expensive, and extend the wear of some dressier items because of comfort issues.
--noodling over the EF toppers. I'm keeping the silvery cardi for sure; something about the play of tones in the knit. Then I thought the gray moto would be a slam-dunk, but wonder about the collar and also if it's too "flat" a fabric-color--I'd thought it was more shiny or silvery from the photos. I'd really target it more for deeper colors than with summery lights--that's how the gray reads, to me. The white linen is something that seems so easy to throw on, & bright colors warm it up, but maybe I should stick with "my" palette.

Thoughts and comments?
