Fun! We just did this last night - forced hubby to try on all his suits and those that were too big or just plain dated are getting donated. He was definitely overdue for some updated things, so looks like I'll get to do some shopping for him now, too. He hates to shop and is actually really happy that I'm willing to shop for him.

Yay! Sounds like a great start! I sparingly edited my boyfriend's closet... Really it was more organizing. I'm stuck now though until he goes through stuff. I don't know what fits and what doesn't etc. I have been slowly throwing out ugly dirty falling apart socks and undies. He'll still wear them even with the holes if I don't throw them out!

Way to go! Now you both will have the satisfaction of beautiful closets! Good luck with the socks and undies. IME guys will hold onto that stuff until it's literally falling apart lol!
I helped mine to weed out before we moved to FL this last time. The out of date jeans and ragged slogan give away tees were left behind. He's a great dresser when it's time to get dressy but his casual wear was way too casual - he completely lacked a stylish casual wardrobe!

Finally, after a long time in coming, the hubster saw what I was doing in editing my closet, he asked me to edit his! Woo wee...what a fun past 2.5 hours. I have a huge donation pile. He's been complaining lately that I have the bigger closet (well, duh sweetie;-) and all his clothes were jam packed in the two smaller office closets. Thanks to Angie and everyone here, I was able to par down his wardrobe of unnecessary items (about 30 pounds) but he still has a fabulous "office wear" capsule, a great upscale casual capsule, a lowscale casual capsule and a work clothes capsule. I even found a beautiful cashmere scarf (that I might borrow on occassion). His t-shirts are now organized by colour. (However, how long that stays I'm not quite sure). Next, I'm tackling the socks and undies.
