I like the pants rolled in 1 and both ways in 3. I think it just depends on how daring you feel with the Spiegel on any given day if you want to roll the jeans or not. Nice boots too!

My Spiegle has come out to play a couple of times this week. Once with my white jeans and another time with black ponte jean cut pants. Same blouse both times - black and white houndstooth check - and my Petty python booties. I *think* they both worked - I'll have to post pictures.

Caro's got a great idea for reducing the "Rate" of the Spiegel. I think you can easily wear it either with white jeans or dark ones or any kind of patterned trouser (almost).

I've been thinking a lot about visual weight since Claire's post and the accompanying link.

Angie works this colour value thing brilliantly. It's one reason she goes for light footwear (the whole bookending concept plays with that). But she is "bright" and wears high contrast really well. You strike me as "soft" both in your actual colouring and your preferred looks. I feel as if I am somewhere in between. I CAN wear black but have to be so intentional about it, and that becomes difficult in my climate where dark and visually weighty boots, booties, coats, jackets, and other clothing are really a necessity for much of the year. Where it is sometimes possible to find "lights" (i.e. a white jacket or coat -- impractical as that is) but rarely can one find true mid-tones.

Anyway, this was about you, right? ;-)

I am thinking that you can wear this jacket but simple bookending with the boots might not be quite enough. It's going to be a question of getting the visual weight "just so." I think in your initial threads with it, that was there.

I really like what you are doing here - making great use of your clothing. This is how I've been dressing for our spring weather - hot one day, winter the next. I like the jeans unrolled with the booties & rolled with the shoes too. What about some more tailored trousers with the jacket to lessen the RATE factor?

Thanks for the vote of confidence Angie - I thought of you when I was thinking about rather to add a necklace or bracelet.

Diane - thanks for the input. I'm not sure if the navy would work with these grey jeans (they are a little RATE to me, and the jacket feels more polished from what I saw online but I'll be able to judge better when I get it). I have a hard time with anything I see as RATE really. I think I see my hair as "messy" and feel like it adds a bit of roughness to any outfit.

kellygirl - I also really like the first outfit as it feels not only really comfortable, but really like me. Thank you!

I love the first outfit. The shoes look great with the breezy tee. I like the roll on this and without. Your leg line looks long either way. Your profile is a lot like mine so I'm guessing you are elliptical but you don't look nearly as broad as I do head on. I think the black booties are gorgeous and might work better with a darker wash jean or a grey bootcut instead of skinny. I prefer the jeans unrolled. Nice two season outfit!

I like the jeans rolled with the shoes and full length with booties. As for the jacket I rather like it as it does bookend with your booties. I can see navy working well though.

Thanks Suz , I always appreciate your input because I feel like you do such a great job on your own wardrobe. I love the moto (and the price I got it for) but I have to admit that it is a little tough for me to style. Pun intended. I guess maybe wearing it with dark jeans might be a better way to go for me. Or maybe I can try it with white jeans if I figure out the right top color. Maybe navy, white and black would do. I feel like I need to "up" the feminine factor for it to really work.

And I'm not sure the navy one will go with the gray here, but I love navy and the idea of a knit moto was so appealing since it's usually not that cold here. I'm hoping the navy will be a softer color for me and maybe work with more of my daily wear.

"Slender" is the answer in your case -- either way!

I like the lace print T, and I like the pants rolled with the shoes (sort of surprising myself with that). I actually prefer them full length with the booties.

I think I'd probably prefer the outfit with a lighter or lighter feeling jacket -- particularly because your hair is quite light, too. But the quilted navy might be just light enough to work -- I guess you will see! Good sale stalking!

You look really good in a semi-tuck so that's definitely one way to go that feels current.

Today I'm working on a two season version of the same outfit I guess. It's cold in the morning but pretty warm by mid afternoon. I'll likely save the boots for even colder weather but wanted to see how they might work.

I skipped jewelry today because I felt the lace print tee stood in for that on it's own.

1. Lace print tee with gray skinnies and gray/bronzy flats and python belt
Should I roll the pants? Roll them higher?
2. Side view (in thinking of Claire's round or elliptical post)
Not sure what I am.
3. Same outfit with black moto added - more edge than I usually ever wear. The booties are comfort oriented but I hope they work okay. Should I roll the pants in this case or leave them long?
4. Close up of boots.
5. Out-take just because.

Would you roll the pants with the booties? Do you think the black moto is too harsh for this outfit or does it work? I also ordered the BR navy quilted moto because I have a weakness for jackets and they sent me a 30% promo code that actually worked today. I'm trying to figure out what tops/blouses work and in what format (tucked, semi-tucked, not tucked) with different jackets and I feel like I'm not very good at it. Most of my button downs feel weird untucked with a shorter jacket. And tucked I feel sort of frumpy in them. I used to wear everything tucked in the late 80's and early 90's so I guess it's a poison eye thing.

ETA: I should have said any and all comments, suggestions are always welcome!
And yes, I could have scrunched those moto sleeves but I just forgot.
