Thank you @Angie - I tried cutout style in blue and light metallic and found them too deep in the heels. I hope to stretch the ones that on my way home and make it a nice neutral option for work .
I still check Ecco brand first for any new styles ( there is one slip on in pure silver that sits at regular price $165.00 that I wish for - sigh..).

I absolutely agree @Suz - the construction of a golf shoe includes the connection between the tongue and the sides ( to prevent little things like pebbles getting inside ) and that limits the space for my high arch.
I ended up duplicating my old Ecco sneakers ( or almost duplicating )
for regular walks.
https://us.ecco.com/ecco-st.1-.....olor=52188

And I'm waiting for the slip on to arrive
https://www.nordstromrack.com/.....E%20METALL

Yes, I wear Ecco shoes and fashion sneakers quite a lot (different styles) and Ecco can work for my foot (with an insole, because otherwise it is too flat for comfort -- I'm better in a non-flat shoe). I did try a pair of their Golf shoes once and had to send back -- it was clear they were not going to be good walking shoes for me. The last was different so they were looser and also harder/ less flexible. I didn't think they would work for all day comfort on hard surfaces. Better on the golf course!

Thank you everyone for extra information and personal experience !
I’m still searching for the best work shoes ( no actual running- hiking shoes allowed). I did order one of the slip-on versions of Ecco 7 on sale- may try to stretch it with a professional help.
It sounds like golf shoes should be worn while playing golf mostly and not suitable for my purposes ( lol to that idea ). Thank you again!

No clues about golf shoes, but I can say that my black Ecco sneakers are the most comfortable, supportive, optimally fitted to my feet, and all-day wearable of any sneaker I've ever owned. And they can almost pass for oxfords, ie unadorned, non-clunky.

And I also had to try on every shoe in the Ecco store to find them. Most were made on a completely different last for a completely different foot shape than mine.

So yes, you need to go in-store and try them on.

I tried some other brands before - like Cole Haan, Sofft, did Clarks for quite a few years. None of those brands work for me now and most need to be tried with special insole which means going half size up or just giving up.
Sometimes shoes are too deep for my feet but not enough for insole to work. Most of the time it's tight for my arch ( recent case - black boots from Earth: good in length and style, not enough space for high arch ).

@unfrumped - I have similar issue with my big toe ( it's bigger than the standard I guess ). The leather or fabrication that sits over the big toe often wears out fast ( old mesh covered sneakers needed to get patched to be used again - made them a bit less comfortable ).

I’m following with interest. Many of the fashion sneakers are too “ flat” in tiebox( even if wide enough), so when done in leather, which is desirable for a more polished look, they rub on my toe, but sizing up can make them too oversized elsewhere.
The widespread use of lightweight mesh for sneakers helps overcome foot issues , but I would like some outfit alternatives this summer.
So I’m looking for that elusive blend in a tie- shoe, sneaker or oxford, that I would really wear all day and not rush to change into other shoes.

A pretty tough bar is, maybe unattainable, would I pack these as one of only 2 pairs for a trip where I might leave the motel in a.m. and not return until evening?

I know the Ecco golf shoe because I tried it in white! It was far too wide for my very low volume feet, but comfortable. Nice thick soles. Sounds like it could work for you.

I agree with always trying—sneaker looks in a fashion shoe don’t necessarily correlate to actual comfort. Why not take a look at something like Cole Haan or any of the makers that are cooperating with athletic shoe makers on models that have the “guts” of real gym shoes but uppers/looks of dressier shoes?

Thank you @Kate - I haven't tried Ecco Soft 7 Street sneaker yet. The Ecco 7 in yellow color worked really nice in the beginning for me but wearing it for work ( 7-8 hours on my feet ) made my right foot eventually too sensitive to a pressure of the top part ( padded tongue ).
I stopped wearing it for a while but sensitivity didn't go away. Sadly I returned that pair.
The Ecco 7 woven style is the best fit so far.
Using the golf shoes as a walking option maybe not the best idea - I need to visit the Ecco store and try some other options.

I have two pairs of the Ecco Soft 7 Street sneaker, which I love. They fit my narrow foot much better than the regular Soft 7. Wore my first pair straight out of the gift box for a 3-mile walk Christmas evening. I liked them so much I bought a second pair a couple of weeks later.

For @lisa p - if you can give your review of golf shoes from ECCO - that would be much appreciated. I'm wondering if they are suitable for regular wear like the running shoes could be used for hiking or city walking ( that's my target I guess ). Thank you in advance!

I wonder if golf shoes have enough padding/support, if sole thickness
( or special features ) betray them as strictly sporty shoes. I'm not sure how golf shoes feel when you have a regular walk in the city ( not on
grass ).
The other question will be if golf shoes are a bit heavy by design or they come in different styles ( some easier for regular walks let's say ).

Just dawned on me, that Sofft sandals were my saving grace on a big trip a few years ago, and ended up wearing my Ecco 7 sneakers on the long flights there and back only. I don't find them all that comfortable for any distance. I racked up THOUSANDS of steps a day in those sandals, so maybe try the Sofft sneakers would be worth a try.

I'm looking for comfortable sneakers to wear for work and after - fashion sneakers permitted but real hiking shoes are not. The ECCO soft 7 sneakers didn't work for me at the end but I do like that brand and their style/comfort level. I've never considered golf shoes and know nothing about their special features. If there is anyone who had any experience with ECCO golf shoes or any golf shoes - I'd interested to know more.
Going with advice "leave no stone unturned" - advice, information, links are welcome.
My feet have high arch, high instep, slim heel, 381/2 - 39 ( or 8-81/2 ).
