Zibbets, that is such a pretty dress! I adore detailed botanicals like that. And BUNNIES! I would love it in the spring/fall, though I have a hard time with 3/4 sleeves. My arms are very cold-sensitive and I have to have long sleeves in A/C at work. It's also out of budget for now. But I think I will stalk it.

I kept the pink dress for Easter. I haven't worn it yet, either - saving it! I also bought a hat. :D

And since we're talking about interesting prints, I snagged this one on clearance from ASOS. It's such a great fit on me, and a fascinating print.
(I can't add my Finds with the new site, so here's a direct link.)
http://us.asos.com/lavand/lava.....=L0xhdmFuZ

Ginger your list of requirements resonated with me so much that I've thought of them many times since. I am always on the lookout for just the right Easter dress this time of year too and it's so hard to find something exactly right. I ran across this today and except for the sleeve length, I think it hits all of your criteria, plus BUNNIES!
https://www.anntaylor.com/reed.....tColor=222

The length is simply perfect. To me it has a mod feel, but very ladylike at the same time. I'm happy! (Isn't it funny how we can recognize similarities? I did the same with my brother's hands once. He is 6'8" and his hands are sized accordingly, but once when I watched him playing the piano it was like looking at my hands. The shape and proportions - long palm and fingers, everything - was exactly the same. Just larger.)

I've tried some of the dresses on my list!

1-3: The blue floral from Dillard's is a great fit, very comfortable on. I really wish the floral had some more color instead of just black and white, and it's right at the top of my budget.

4-6: The Horrockses iris floral is a beautiful print. It's also polyester satin lined with more polyester, very very hot. And the fit didn't work. An inch too short waisted and very restricted in the arms.

7-9: ASOS knit lace dress is really pretty; I want to keep it anyway. The effect is very feminine and pretty, and it's actually very breathable. Both from the lace and the open knit.

I bought some dresses at Talbot's last year, and really like them. They are fit and flare, and totally lined. I also bought some Maggy London wrap dresses from Nordstrom, but that doesn't fit your criteria. I love wearing dresses every night when we cruise, so I'm taking quite a few on our upcoming 7-day cruise.

My mom was a seamstress and used to make me an Easter dress every year, but my dresses were always covered up by a robe whenever I sang in the choir. I was church pianist, so most of the time I was at the piano, and could wear my new dress. The only thing I disliked was that most of the time, we'd get a hard freeze at Easter, and I wouldn't be able to wear my dress until the weather warmed up. Still, I had a new dress every year.

Ryce, I've never owned one of the vintage ones, but they're really lovely. Their big thing was using pretty, elegant cotton prints to make good, high quality dresses. Not ordinary house dress or day dresses. I think this is an attempted revival of sorts; the original firm is gone.
https://www.theguardian.com/li.....es-fashion

Thanks, Sally! I'm drawn to the citrus Horrockses, too. The ground is mint, not white - isn't that fun? The floral is pretty, but a wee bit bland/too purple for my preferences. I want to find the Dillard's one in a store, since they don't do free shipping. :(

Ha! kkards, I do want to avoid THAT Laura Ashley look. That said, the new ones do look nice.

Zibbets, it's not unusual for Easter morning to be colder and wetter than Christmas! Freezing precip is more common then as well. Go figure. I usually wear a heavy coat in the morning, but do okay with short sleeves during services. Singing, and being under the lights, keeps me from being too cold. Do let me know if you find anything!
I'm told that the choir really does look good in the solids. There's a single large stained glass window high above the loft, so the idea is to present a similar effect. Prints make it muddy. (Plus black is for orchestra, and white messes with the cameras for webcasting.) The pictures aren't very good, but hopefully it helps.
I hope you are able to sing again sometime!

Ginger, your specs are almost exactly what I would be looking for. I too long for the perfect Easter dress every year. I'm always looking for bright pastels and I usually need arm coverage because it's still chilly.

I briefly checked my usual haunts and came up empty, but I'll look again later today.

Your choir must be beautiful in an array of solids! I'm looking forward to singing in the choir again sometime down the road.

Length is my issue with fit and flare dresses, they can be too short. I purchased a black one with white polka dots that has been fun to wear for me.

Thanks for the tip, Janet! That one is sleeveless, but I haven't looked at Talbot's at all. I'll check some more.

LBD, you get it! SO many things are off in one or two factors. Sleeves are definitely the trickiest part. It's not a church thing, it's just me. Sleeves go very far to balance my pear hips; without them, my body looks like a small block on top of a big triangle. eShakti has been a lifesaver (not literally) because sleeves can be added to just about any style. But even their styles aren't really coming through in this case. Thanks for looking! I do hope you can find something. :D

I'm pretty sure I'll order the ASOS ones anyway because I really have nothing to lose, and I'm super curious about the Horrockses dresses. It's a famous mid-century dress brand and originals are sought; these seem to fit the aesthetic.

I was like, challenge accepted! And I went to visit all my usual suspects: Boden, Shabby Apple, Modcloth....

Nope. It's like those logic games you play as a kid, where you're given six clues and a grid to fill in who is related to who...

If it's a non-neutral floral, it's either a sheath, or it's sleeveless. It seems like you can find dresses that tick off three out of four of your specs. It also seems like finding sleeves on the dress is the tricksy part.

I'll keep looking, and if I see anything, I'll add it to finds!

I really like the first one. I like how the pattern works with the dress' design.

I bought a couple dresses at Talbots last year or the year before. They do have some fit and flares, and the quality seemed to be very good (for example, they're fully lined).
Here's one. I think the print is very pretty.

It's odd, since I shop for dresses all the time, but I really like having a new dress for Easter. I've got a long list of criteria, though! (My first search on Nordstrom, just specifying skirt and sleeve and style preferences, narrowed it from over 6700 to 225. Picky!)

1. I'm in the church choir. We don't wear robes, but we do wear solid colors, and no black or white. Easter is the only time we can wear prints, so I would really like to have a print! But the right solid is fine, too.

2. If a print or pattern, it needs to be work suitable. I really want to be able to wear it more than just Easter and to the occasional shower. So not lace or obvious cocktail-type dresses. (Work dress code is not strict, but I know what will work and what won't.)

3. Styling requirements.
* Short, cap, or flutter sleeves. Cold shoulder might be okay if it's not huge.
* Fit and flare styling. No sheaths, no shifts.
* Pleated or flared skirt. No gathers.
* Knee length or midi. Guessing 40" minimum length because I'm tall.

4. I don't want bra straps to show, so nothing sheer in the wrong area. (I adore sheers, but not that type for a workday!)

5. Color! I would LOVE a giant floral. White, not ivory or cream. No all-neutral designs. Preferably not a dark ground, or lots of orange.

6. Price. I want to keep it under $100. Unless it's perfect in every way and I know I will wear it regularly for the next ten years. (If it IS that perfect, I will. Including for more Easters.)

I've found some things so far, shown in Finds. None is screaming at me yet, but they're contenders. I'm willing to order a lot to try, but prefer free shipping/returns.
