Alecia - I like the coat but I also think that it might look good with something like skinny jeans or pants that are sleeker underneath because of the volume of the coat. And I like the idea of the jumper dress but this one is too voluminous and hides your figure. Love the casual market day outfit and the fourth outfit looks great!

Hi Alecia, and thank you for posting!

I also completely agree with the previous responses. The fourth outfit is my favorite and I also really like the second one. I do like the idea of the jumper over white shirt, but I do not like this particular one - it looks to baby-doll-ish to me and a bit too short too.

Alecia:

Tarzy and Joy have captured my thoughts exactly, especially the comment about how outfits that define your waist are wonderfully flattering....and also about how well you wear color. Likewise, the jumper is not working for me, though I cannot say exactly why. I think it's because it does not define your shape, really, and you have a lovely shape, which we see so nicely when you wear belts and such.

Thank you for posting!

I like Joy's ideas for adding color.

The first coat is very nice. Since it's already got some volume, could you wear it with jeans instead of pants that also have volume?

I really love the trench coat outfit! Very stylish yet casual. I like you in things that wrap and define your waist.

To be honest - I don't love the jumper. I like the idea of a jumper over white shirt for you, but I don't love this particular one. It's looks a tiny bit "young" to me, with the high high waist right under the bust and all those gathers. And I do have to say I think it's a bit short. Maybe it would work over very skinny jeans? But even then I'm not a big fan of this particular garment.

I love the last outfit, too. Very stylish and flattering! I like you in this look a lot!

Alecia, thank you for posting your photos. The local designer coat has a wonderful texture. Could you think of it more as a cardi than a coat? The colors and weight sound good for cool spring days. Could you add a purple or pink pashima over it for more warmth? Love what you're wearing under it too.
Your farmers' market outfit looks pulled together. In the photo the jeans look a little short, but that may be the angle. You could add more color with a scarf. Since short trenches fit your weekend style, I'd keep an eye out for a colorful one.
I'm not a fan of your jumper dress, but it's not the length that seems off to me, it's how wide it makes you look when you're not. Again, it may be the photo, I think it's all the gathers. You have great legs.
The last look looks cozy. I'd like to see something added...maybe a long necklace or a brooch, maybe a bit wider belt.

It's been a while since I've posted outfits. I've had a heck of a time getting pictures taken. Just too much going on. Here are a few that I was able to capture. I couldn't get the feature in photobucket that allows descriptions to work on my husband's mac. So here are the notes.

1) Riki (local designer) false plain with pink and purple coat, BR sweater, Forever 21 skinny "patent" belt, BR fine pinstripe pants, nine west shoes - I've gotten a lot of good use out of the coat but I'm not sure about it now. I've got a girlfriend that covets it and I'm sure she'd love if I passed it on. Thoughts? Note: It's more of an indoor thing as it's not very warm.

2) My farmer's market look - Trench, funnel neck fleece shirt, jeans, and pumas. I raced out of the house without that much effort in the look to make sure I got to the market in time, but I still felt pretty put together and comfortable.

3) SuperBowl party - Jumper dress over white EB button down, brown tights, and brown suede boots. I was definitely the most dressed up at the party. All the other girls had the jeans and t-shirt look going on. I kind of expected that so I wanted not to go too sophisticated. The dress is pretty short. I always wear it with tights but I'm not sure if I can pull it off. ??? (Sarah, here's your chance to weigh in on the skirt length thing for me.)

4) Style & Co - Boyfriend cardi, BR cowl neck, GAP cotton pants, brown boots - Warm and comfy.

Comments and suggestions always welcome.
