I usually use the sponge even though it gets foamy sometimes. I just wipe the dye on in a thinner coat until all the bubbles are gone. The third coat I brushed on instead of sponging...and our seemed to getting saturated now and shinier. I hope one more will do it.</p> <p>Claire, does it get to a point where you have access to wipe off or does it all absorb in the end? The sponge made it foam a bit and then the color was lumpy. Brown isn't a color I need so I am dying them Bordeaux...this is the progress after zero, then one, then two coats. The booties seemed to absorb allot on the first coat but less on the second...now they will dry an hour before the next round....in the meantime I think I will have a latte and read a magazine. Hope you all are having a nice Saturday </p>
