I have almost total salivary gland destruction and very extensive dental work ... my dry mouth is pretty severe and I used pilocarpine by prescription 4x daily to provoke saliva until the gland damage was too severe.
I now use Spry xylitol spray. It's a miracle product for me. It is mainly aloe vera and xylitol. Non gmo xylitol.
I can spray my mouth in bed, after meals etc and it keeps my mouth from being acidic and as painful and promotes less decay.

Like Tanya, I also use Manuka honey +20. I don't like biotene personally, it didn't work well for me. I know others use it with success though.

Ups, sorry, only seeing this now.
I have already said what I know about Biotene, and Manuka honey seems to help.

The only Biotene product that appears to have kept the original formula is the mouth rinse/wash (formerly known as PBF):
https://www.amazon.com/Biotene....._a_it?ie=U

It is only the green one, I believe that on the ingredients on the blue bottle items like sodium hydroxide are mentioned, urgh. I have continued to use the green bottle formula and am pretty pleased with it.

I have also tried these Xylitol lozenges which were pretty OK:
https://www.amazon.com/ACT-Tot.....&qid=

My dental hygienist recommended a few products to me. I tried a sample and it did help. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the products. I can phone the dentist tomorrow and ask. They were new and did not contain sugar or sorbitol. I think they were from a health food store.

Starting this thread because I'm interested in hearing more about Tanya's and others' knowledge, experience, and suggestions on this.

I'd mentioned learning about Biotene's dry-mouth moisturizing gel. Tanya pointed out that it used to be good, but that since being purchased by another company, the formulation has changed and might even be harmful. It certainly contains more sorbitol than I'd like to be consuming on a regular basis.

Would love to hear further suggestions!

I'm tempted to ask my pharmacist if she can compound something out of glycerin and xylitol.
