That is awful. I hope you can get compensation.

I don't think there's much you can do other than taking photos and demanding a compensation from

the dry cleaners.

I've had cleaners leave burns on a coat before - the worst!

Your coat may repairable, but at what cost, is the question. I have used Arrow Fabricare in Missouri to repair a coat (they replaced damaged knit cuffs and waistband on a leather aviator jacket; also required removing/reattaching). Arrow will provide a quote if you send them pictures, and provide shipping labels to/from their location.

Maybe email Arrow for a quote and see if the dry cleaner will pay for some of it? Here is their form where you can attach photos.

https://www.arrowcare.com/contact-us.html

Good luck!

I don’t have legal advice, which seems to be what you need, but I will suggest that you get right back to the cleaners to file a complaint pronto, so it’s documented and they can’t later say it was fine when you picked it up & you messed it up later.

Maybe not repairable but could you eliminate those details altogether and still have an attractive coat that doesn't look shabby and that you'd be happy with?

Is the cleaner also a tailor? Might they have a creative solution?

Otherwise what choice do you have?

That's awful. I'm sorry.

Dry Cleaners paid for my trench coat they ruined, many years ago. They forgot to cover its huge plastic buttons with foil - which melted. It was an unpleasant experience though.

I picked up my wool coat today from the dry cleaners and it looks as though the faux-leather trim around the belt loops and decorative aspects were burnt off. They are all frayed.

Clearly, it's not repairable--you'd have to take the entire coat apart.

What are my options here? Urgent, because I only have a day or so to act, according to their policy.
