Huh, now that is a shoe I never imagined. I will have to absorb it first and get back to you. It's certainly worth trying though.

These completely fit with Angie's post on boyfriend boots
http://youlookfab.com/2010/09/10/boyfriend-boots/
I could see them worn with scrunched down socks and skirts/ dresses. I hope you give them a whirl.

Of course you should give them a whirl, and post pics too!-)
Like the sound of the outfits you are planning with them.

I think they will need some breaking in though, Dr. Martens leather can be quite stiff in the beginning.

I am not really set on the red, but I thought that was the color I would link to because I have been searching for a pair of red flats I could wear for years and have yet to find them!

I think Style Bubble had the black and white dotted haircalf version of these which I loved. I do these in black, not sure about the red. But I'm not really a pop of color person.

I really love the look of them. I agree the tougher vibe of the lace up looks interesting & fun with the color & heel. I can't help with specific styling though. I do know I'd most likely wear them under nice long jeans. I'd give them a try if your budget allows.

I have been drooling over these docs:

http://store.drmartens.co.uk/p-3410-darcie.aspx

I saw them when searching for boots for this winter. Am I crazy to consider them?

I generally can't wear heels, but my only pair I do wear are a pair of lace up roper cowboy boots with a 2 inch heel (I have had them for years and can wear them for a good 8 hours-- walking, country western dancing, ect). The extra support from the lace up boot makes a big difference. The Darcies are 3 inches, but have a slight platform and have great reviews for comfort, even from non-heel-wearers. I love the juxtaposition of the tough vibe with the heel and color.

I could totally see myself rocking these with tights and a black on grey leopard print dress and a bf cardi or blazer or denim jacket this fall and winter. I have long legs (34" inseam in flats) so I am not too worried about the leg line issue, esp. since the dress or skirt would be above the knee. They would also look sexy sticking out from the bottom of a pair of jeans.

What do you ladies think? Should I order a pair and give them a whirl or should I have reservations?
