I would either go for one size up in the jeans and this shirt, or one size up in the shirt and these jeans... You look fantastic in BF.

I think the jeans look great on you too --- but of course if you know the kind of fit you want and these are the opposite, you should hold out!

Personally, I'm one of those who'd prefer a softer, silkier blouse with BFs especially --- but that's just my style preference, and my own wariness of button-downs in casual outfits.

You look really good in these, but I am glad you are going to hold out for the perfect ones. I think you'll really enjoy wearing them when you do find them; I can see you working them into your style really well.

If you got them bigger, would they fall off?

He he, Angie. Surprise! I just wanted to give it a whirl, I suppose. If I found just the right fit, very tailored, I could see it working if I gave it some rock n roll touches to un preppy it I do basically have a poison eye for more boxy traditional oxford shirts on ladies.
The jeans are almost, but not quite. I do think I will stick with trying on in person for the elusive BF jeans, as online ordering is just too hit and miss for fit. I feel I'm on the right track, anyway

I actually like the way these BF jeans fit you Mo! They have a fabulous broken-in look but aren't "sloppy", if you know what I mean.

Love the shirt and like Angie's suggestion to size up and give it a try.

I like these jeans on you. I'm on the hunt for BF jeans too and will also probably end up with a pair that is slightly snugger than most people on the forum. I go shopping so seldom that it takes me months to fill wardrobe holes.

You are wearing a button down shirt, Malina!! For years, on this forum, you have led me to believe that you have a poisoned eye for this item - and for my style, it's a wardrobe essential :). What caused the change of heart?

FWIW, I like the BF jeans! And a size up in the shirt would probably be sensational. A soft blousey look would be fab too. I love you in these types of items!

Stay safe on your road trip.

I thought the same as you about the jeans, Mo: looser in the seat and tighter in the legs, like Denise wears hers. Sounds like you are on the right track with shirts, too. It makes sense that one shirt wouldn't go with all bottoms.

Only size I could find at the time. Oddly, they are more snug in the rear and looser in the thighs. I would prefer the opposite. I used to have literal BF jeans that an ex of mine wore - Levi's that were just right. The side seam split several years later, he was building casinos in Vegas after all, so they got worn in alright.
Marley, I think a tailored button front would be awesome with BF jeans and maybe another, looser, flowy silk for skinnies an my leather panel skirt. Maybe one cream and one optic white!

Well - I think you really look good in these - so that's not a problem when trying to figure out if they are your "style" or not! Did you try the jeans in several different sizes just to see what the differences were and how they felt on you? These dont' look as though they have any bagginess in the rear at all - but then its kind of hard to tell in the picture. As far as the blouse goes - this one doesn't look too snug on you! In fact I think it could be cut in a little snugger at the waist. I used to think that there was no way that I would ever wear/enjoy a white fitted button down shirt - until I found one that fit me perfectly (at Zara's) - and then I fell in love with them! I picked up a 2nd one over the So CAL YLF weekend when we were at the Swap Meet - found one from J Crew for a dollar - and it fits me perfectly too! I think you should experiment a little - to me, BF jeans look much better with a white fitted shirt than they do with a blousy silk button front - but that's just my personal preference!

I'm not thinking either of these are "the one" but just interested in how the styles come across on me to all of you. Was in Dillard's poking around while the BF was visiting family today. The jeans are Silver and the top is a low budget brand that was too snug.
I basically can't decide between a fitted white shirt like this or a blousy silk button front. Also, I know I want my BF jeans more snug than most of you wear, but can't decide if these are roomy enough. Not sure on the sweet spot for me.
