The drapey-ness of the fabrics really makes it work, the volume collapses back onto the body in a slightly louche way. I'm thinking about how I love the colors in outfit 1, and how that taupe striped sweater looks so good with the taupe-tinged creamy boots, and how the jeans length allows just enough of a peek at the boots to notice. And I like the layering in the second outfit, the plaid shirt and the striped shoes together. There are so many more fun elements to dressing than figure flattery (which can be fun, too). It's a striped tunic length mockneck Lucky Brand sweater paired with wide leg ivory Madewell jeans and flat Marfil Pikolinos booties. Lots of volume with volume.</p> <p>This outfit would have been more figure flattering if I'd swapped the loose sweater with something more form fitting and/or cropped, but it was a rainy day. I wanted to brighten things up with light colors and have a relaxed casual vibe instead.</p> <p><b>#4 to #6 - Navy Vneck for Team Blue</b><br />On this rainy day I craved some of my soothing blues, so I started with a navy vneck Vince sweater. For warmth and a preppy vibe I layered the sweater with a blue plaid Caslon shirt and a tank top. The Gap Vintage Slim jeans are a straight leg that I wear one size larger so I can get a little bit of slouch with a straight leg fit. Blue Adidas sneakers with a pink stripe added a touch of fun to the outfit.</p> <p>Thanks for looking!</p> <p> </p>
