Sihaya, the only style that is remotely dressy is the patent. The rest are casual and not different enough to your PG’s.

These are dressy boots:

I have not tried any of the boots you listed, but a week or so ago, I did try on some boots at the local Clark's store - some flat boots and some boots with a slight heel. Amazingly, the Clark's "Cardy" boot (the heeled boot) was the most comfortable of all. I was in shock, as I'd assumed that flat boots would be more comfortable. These particular heeled boots aren't fancy, and don't have lots of interesting details - aside from a little tiny sort of leather braiding up the sides, but they were sooooooo comfortable. I didn't buy them, but I'm "stalking" them, just because they were that comfortable. Really nice boots!! Simple, but good.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7568199/c/90532.html

Having done a little bit more research on these particular boots, they claim to have some sort of fancy footbed with 'active air technology' or something like that. In any case, these were ten times more comfortable than umpteen flat boots I tried. Just for the record, I measured my calf - and it's 14.75" at the widest point. When you say wide - are you referring to calf measurement or just the shoe part?

In terms of the flat boots I tried, the Bandolino Castalina was also pretty darned comfortable, but I felt like the calf was a bit too wide on me - they aren't super wide, but they are slightly wider than some others I've tried. I'm not sure I'd call them 'dressier boots' though. Here's a link to them, just in case - they seem similar to some of the ones you've linked.

http://www.zappos.com/bandolin.....ck-leather

The Bandolino Castalina boot is on sale at Macy's until midnight tonight, for $104. They are higher in the shaft - and wider in the calf as well. Like I said, not super wide, but definitely (slightly) wider than something like the Ecco Bremens or Clark's Cardy. The Bandolino Castalina boot is very nice-looking, and comfortable, but more 'equestrian'. What I liked about these is that they came up higher on the shaft. Not to the point of being annoying or anything, but better than some other 'knee high' boots that aren't all that 'knee high' after all (on me).

Meanwhile, in terms of a boot with a slight heel - I'd have to suggest either the Ecco Bremen tall boots (only available at Dillard's right now in the black leather $159 - I think it's a style from a year or more ago), or the Clark's Cardy boot (approx $200 just about everywhere). That said, I'm still working my way through the boot conundrum myself, and haven't yet tried tons of boots on.

I agree with you, Maya. When I think dressy, I think sleek, heeled, and/or special finish/leather. Doesn't have to be high, but more dainty than you would find on a flat or equestrian-style boot.

I guess it also depends on how dressy you are thinking, Sihaya. Do you have any pics of the dresses or skirts you have in mind?

I agree with Maya. When I saw the styles in your links- they all looked like casual equestrian styles to me. I think of dress boots as something with a defined, feminine heel- even if it's small.

Sihaya, I actually think a lot of those seem to be more equestrian so I'm curious to see your PG boots just to see as a comparison. The LC Stella boots are incredible and I think the patent makes them appear dressier than they would be in a matte version. Other than that, I really do feel dress boots need more of a dressy heel...even if it's just 1", like these:

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7261884/c/216.html (I have the ankle boot version of these and they are insanely comfortable).

You know how fussy my feet are and I have a pair of dress boots with a 2" heel that I have worn all over Manhattan without a hitch. They are by Ecco (style is Bremen I think).

So I think you either need a low but dressy heel, or a dressy material like patent. I, of course, am not authority on this but that's just my feeling.

I have a pair of great Paul Green boots. They cost a lot but they've been worth every penny. I wear them mostly tucked in with jeans but also with some skirts and walk shorts. However, they're more of an equestrian look and don't work with dressier outfits, especially many skirts and dresses. So I'm looking for dressy boots. However, I have fussy feet. They need to be wide, comfortable, and with a low heel. I don't have a lot of confidence shopping for boots so I'd love your input. Here are some I found on zappos that might fit the bill. Do they? Are they dressy enough? Anyone have these and care to comment on size fitting and comfort levels?

Thanks so much!
