I agree, just a tad short but not out of hand. Leggings or opaque tights with flat slouchy boots would probably look great. I think it's the combination of short dress and high heeled boots which pushes them just a little out of work appropriate (but again, not awful). For work, I try to keep skirts at or just above my kneecap. But what do I know, I'm a notorious prude.

Good for you for being adventurous, you'll find the right balance soon I'm sure!

Great dresses i think they'd be perfect as tunics with leggings, skinnies or ponte knit pants x

Cute dresses! I agree that they'd look great as tunics... pop them over skinny jeans, ponte knit pants, or leggings and you'd have a cute outfit. I think the shortness factor depends on where you work, but I'd be inclined to say they're a bit too short to be worn as dresses for work but possibly okay for casual settings, especially in the summer.

For work, I think it might be pushing it, but it might depend on your industry. I can't answer as to whether it is age appropriate. These seem a bit longer than the skirt you posted so you might be ok.

I agree with Shana that they would look great as tunics. I think they would also be much more acceptable with leggings rather than hose (though again it may not be work appropriate in certain contexts). Definitely keep them. You may just have to wear them differently or reserve them for weekends and after hours.

the first one is questionable, the second one seems fine to me (is it indeed longer than the first?)
shana has a great suggestion to wear them as tunics over skinny jeans or straight leg jeans.

I do agree with the others that these are too short, but think Shana has given great advice to try some ponte pants with these.

Hmmm, I find both of those dresses a tad short - what kind of work environment are you in? Though your tights are opaque, we're talking several inches (3-4) above the knee here which I think is kind of pushing it for work. These would work well as tunic length paired with some skinny bottoms though - maybe the ponte knit pants that Angie has blogged about and that several forum members have sported?

First, thanks for everyone's honest feedback. That skirt has moved to the "to donate" pile.

Now I have a couple of dresses. I didn't measure them....

Please remember that I am a typically very conservative dresser, so this is my attempt to bring a little variety to my wardrobe.
