I really like the wine dress for this occasion. While that teal dress is beautiful and very elegant, it is almost too perfect in a more cold, businesslike way. Whereas I find the wine dress more warm and approachable - more of a family gathering dress. The teal dress says art gallery opening or a night at the opera the me. It is sheer, has a tank dress under-layer that is quite short, and I now that I see it in these photos and see others' responses here, I'm thinking it's not the one for this event. <br />Sally, I am pretty sure I'm not keeping the striped dress.
