Oh, these are so adorable! She must be quite the accessory for you! I sewed the matching dresses when my DD was 3-4. Looking back at the pictures, she looked cute, and I looked like I was ready to board a covered wagon and hit the Oregon Trail.

I do remember noticing that her skin tone was different than mine and needed different colors. From a very young age (old enough to hold a crayon) she instinctively chose colors that looked good on her and told me that my greyed-out muted colors were *sad colors*! They were, for her. She's now a teenager and is really having fun developing her style and I'm having fun watching her (and trying not to meddle).

Not as much as I like because I don't buy them much - they mostly wear handmedown and gifts chosen by others. But I did like one of my daughter's dresses so much I attempted to make a copy for myself!

Cute dresses! That's so great that you can make clothes for your daughter! My mom sewed matching dresses for herself and me when I was a toddler. I can't sew but I like to wear similar outfits with DD once in a while! And she is into pattern mixing just like me!

Mine isn't old enough to voice her opinion yet, I'm sure there is a short lifespan for this =)

Ha! If only. My daughter has a strong aversion to most things I like. This does not bode well for the teenage years ;)

Cute dresses.

I'm going to start making some things for myself for summer very soon, but right now I'm finishing up spring clothes for my one year old. I'm finding that I am paying more attention to things like colors that look great on her, shapes I like her in. I don't think I would have thought about those things much a couple of years ago. It's been a lot of fun.

Does your style aesthetic get reflected in your children's wardrobe?
