I actually found a similar red sweater dress on ebay. It's 70% acrylic so It probably won't last me a whole season, but it's good enough to tie me over until I have more choices, and at $8, I can't complain.

This dress does not have the flowing thing going on, but it is red, it is 3/4 sleeve, it is a tunic and it's only $25. It might be more form fitting for what you're looking for...but it's worth a look.

I have to confess: I shop at Target. I took my daughter to get new shoes today, and then took a quick stroll through the women's section. Usually I walk away empty-handed (or maybe snatch up a cami), but today I was delighted by their dresses. They had some great wrap dresses (I love that style), and I got one for work (in a dark blue/light blue pattern with long sleeves, knee length) and one for going out (black, short sleeves with cute detail). Plus a wrap top in dark blue with green and yellow - perfect with my new yellow shoes Two of the three items were from the "Isaac Mizrahi for Target" line, and I swear they are as stylish as can be - with the right accessories, of course. Total spend for 2 dresses and 1 top: $75. Made my day!
None of the items is on their website, though it features some similar wrap dresses - even one in bright pink and orange. Not sure wrap dresses are your thing, Mayapple, I know you were looking more at those flowing tunic dresses, but I thought I'd mention it...

I saw that UO dress but that sad dusty purple is nothing compared to the red of the first dress. It's also longer (I saw it in person). The first dress looks great. I wonder how long it would be on me. It looks super short on the model, but I am probably a good 10 inches shorter than she is. Hard to tell if it's ink blue or black. I don't think we have a Dillards here so I can't try it on. Worth considering, though.

I like the dress Angie mentioned too, but I'm not sure if I should get a black dress. I have so much black in my wardrobe. I am actually more and more into the shocking pink. I think it would look cute with my yellow bag. The only drawback is the quality. Maybe I just missed the boat on this trend and will have to wait until fall to find what I'm looking for. I hate to spend money on something that isn't PERFECT because I usually end up finding something better later on. This time I think I'll be patient.

I just found this dress on Dillards.com. It's similar to the original one you posted (the one you missed out on), but it only comes in "midnight" which I think is either black or navy. It's by Esprit though, and looks to be pretty short already:

http://www.dillards.com/webapp.....R=02764288

Plus I went to the urbanoutfitters site and found this dress, which is the same brand and very similar, but sweater material I guess:

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....038;color=

Do you any of these would work on an hourglass figure with large shoulders? I'm having a hard time finding dresses that don't have either spaghetti straps (definitely don't have the toned upper body for that) or little puffy cap sleeves, which make my shoulders and upper arms look ginormous:

http://www.dillards.com/webapp.....R=02755009

Antje, Macy's is really annoying me right now. At least half of the stuff on their website is "no longer available" and the search feature doesn't work. I don't like going to the one here because it's overwhelming if you're shopping for something specific (it's the big one in NYC). It's a shame because a lot of their dresses would have been cute if they were available. Why do they even have them on the site?!

Is the dress on the website Angie? This is the only one I could find that seemed similar: http://www.anntaylorloft.com/c.....ory=Misses

It actually comes out to about the same price, but I would have to pay more to get it shortened.

They have the Nordstrom dress at the Loft in black for cheaper. I saw it there a few days ago. You’ll have to have it shortened. Add grey leggings and bright flats and you are ready for Spring.

Mayapple, that Nordstrom dress is gorgeous! I'd totally go for it if I were you.
Have you checked Macy's? I've bought a couple dresses there. Also, believe it or not, J.C. Penney's had some unexpected finds, I got a crazy blue tunic/dress there a few months ago, very funky and at a killer price. Woudl have never expected this in the world, but now I check back there every once in a while...

I would really like some versatile casual dresses to zip around in. Ideally they could double as dresses and tunics, and would have sleeves that are elbow length or 3/4 length so I can get the most use out of them throughout the seasons. I also need an open neckline. This is what I had originally found and it was perfect, but unfortunately they ran out of my size while I was debating whether or not to get it. I have been kicking myself every day for not getting this dress while I had the chance:

http://www.kaboodle.com/review.....ater-dress

This is probably the closest I have come so far, but the color is more like a shocking pink than red to me: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/29.....1&P=1

Where else can I look besides the usual Nordstrom, BR, Ann Taylor, Gap, etc.?
