Hopefully I'll get a chance to try a real wearing of this. After wearing the pants for only a brief time, it became apparent that I'll need to have them altered before I wear them out. They don't have belt loops, and they're a mid-rise, so they slide down my hips quite a bit. (I'm not complaining, though -- I had reached a point where I was not feeling good with the weight I was slowly gaining. I've made some subtle changes in my eating over the last few months that seem to be helping, and I think my exercise routine is helping too. I hate it when my clothes get tight!) I could do this same thing with my wide-leg Athleta pants, which are wider in the leg all the way down to the hem. </p> <p></p> <p>Olive Green, the dress is perhaps a little departure for me in recent years. I would have worn the heck out of this earlier in my life when I had a real job to go to. For this stage of my life, I barely own any dresses that can be worn outside of hot summer conditions. They need a little tailoring in the waist and maybe a smidge taken off the length, but they’re really nice. I think they play pretty well with the dress. </p> <p>Pardon the strings hanging down from the dress — they’re meant to hold the skirt part closed, but I find that laughable because the overlap of the skirt is maybe 4-5 inches (as is evident in the third pic!) so barely an adequate wrap for anyone who plans to sit down in a dress. Since I’m pretty sure this dress will never be worn without a substantial underpinning, I’m going to cut out the ties. </p> <p>Opinions?
