Shiny works great. For cooler days (may have already been suggested, I haven't read others' comments) - how about a cropped cardi or a trapeze shorter length jacket?

I think you shouldn't wait for the challenge Shiny, try the leggings with that gorgeous dress as soon as they arrive. You look super with the dress over jeans and I immediately started wondering how the dress would look over leggings.
(I'm mustering up courage to try it myself too, so some more stylish examples from you would be fantastic;-))

(if you pair it with leggings, you could always try a denim jacket over it too).

Thanks all - I am still skeptical (proof will be in the wearing of it) but my last outing on mother's day wearing the ATL dress over skinnies did give me more confidence this can be a comfortable look. And I am planning to wear this outfit today, as the weather seems perfect for it. I am so glad I can repurpose this dress!

Kari, Maya - I withheld the 4th photo that my DD14 took: she told me "now pose like you are pole dancing"... LOL... we have watched too much Wife Swap lately! She is a great photographer though; always gets me to smile!

As soon as my new cropped leggings arrive in the mail, I'll be experimenting with that look too. If anyone wants to make that my challenge, that would be a good one. Hint, hint.....

I love this dress. It's so versatile, like Angie's cobalt dress. It will go with leggings, jeans, or on is own. I'm not personally a fan of the dress-over-clams look, but it could be another option. I have nothing to add other than you look great! Love the action shot!

Shiny, I like it too & my eye isn't completely used to this look yet. I was wondering what it would look like over some white clams also. And, this might sound really funky but what if you layered a longer skirt under??? The layered skirt/dress look??? For jewels I like the dangly earrings others suggested. I'd also try it with your signature knotted pearls (I think this is white or cream with brown or black isn't it?), or try a necklace with a pendant since you have that cut out opening. A strand of pearls would be fun too. What about that cool crystal pendant drop necklace you have on the funky links? That might be fun also. I love that necklace!

That dress works really well over the jeans, Shiny! I think it will also look great over leggings. Not sure about knee-length bottoms, though -- I would need to see pictures. I guess I like some distance between the dress hem and the pant/legging hem, to avoid competing hem lengths.

A cropped cardi would work. Maybe consider an open shawl cardigan too.

LOVE.

And that's saying something, because my eye is still adjusting to the dress-over-jeans look as a fab one. I grew up not far from where you live -- i.e., cold winters -- and my mother served her need for me to wear a dress to school every single day by making me put pants under it in cold weather. Hated the bunchy feeling and the look (yes, I was a Chubby Kid).

But THIS is something else entirely, Shiny. Totally fab. I can definitely picture it over clams or leggings, and with either a cropped cardi or your white jacket.

For accessories, either a bib necklace peeking out from the neckline, or the aforementioned dangly earrings.

Love the "action shot" too.

Shiny, it looks great! I remember that dress from last year, it's a pity I couldn't get it in my size. I would like to see it with white denim, it would probably look smashing.

As for brown leggings, I spotted some cropped brown ones at the mall last week. Either at F21 or Charlotte Russe. Not great quality, but I was desperate. I didn't buy them though.

Shana, these are the Ambers - bootcut. I had them on yesterday and I simply swapped tops so I could try this look out. I imagine it could work with straight or skinny too? My white jeans are also bootcut.

As for the Huttons, I never know what TTS means - in relation to what? Within the brand or from brand to brand? At any rate, my Elsons and Ambers are size 25 but I did get my Hutton's in a 26. I think because they are higher in the rise, I needed to size up to accomodate my thicker middle? I don't remember. Well, I remember trying on both sizes and the sales clerk wanted me to get the 25's, but the 26's felt more comfortable. They looked about the same though. The Hutton's were my first premium jean ever.

Bella and Niva - I like the dangly earring idea!

Deborah - he was emptying the coffee filter. Coffee is his job - he won't let me touch the coffee maker. He makes the coffee in the morning, then after work, empties the filter and sets it all up for the next morning. Oh, and if anyone's noticed tons of diet coke cases in the background, that's HIS coke. I don't touch the stuff. Yech.

I like it! I can see it with a white or turquoise cardi - either short sleeve or 3/4 sleeve. Are these your skinny jeans (UO)? I'd have to see it paired with clams but somehow I think the longer length of the jeans works better.

BTW, I'm not sure if you'll see my question since it is in cciele's thread but I was wondering if you found the COH huttons to be TTS? Thx!

This dress is too short to wear as a dress, and I was going to cull it out but thought to try it over jeans yesterday:

http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....f%20may18/
pw is ylf2008

Does it work?

If so, how would you accessorize it?

Also I am thinking if the temp is cool enough for long jeans, then my shoulders might get cold without a cardigan or jacket or something? What would you suggest? Would my white pleather jacket work?

I could also wear this over white jeans, but then what sort of arm covering?

Would this work over denim clams? (I also have white walk shorts which hit at knee)

What about leggings? Would they work with black ones? (Not sure I'm going to be able to find brown ones that are short enough).
