I like it Jeneva. It is appropriate and pretty. And finding a dress that works for breastfeeding is pretty limiting. (I'm trying to remember what an earth I did at that point - I do remember going out of a fancy dress event and pretty much taking the dress off to feed my baby!)

Glad it worked out, Jenava!
Interesting shift you're describing, re: dressy versus casual style. Maybe worth a post if you ever have the time (which I'm guessing is scarce for you these days).

Yes, it is pretty casual, but this is sort of my comfort zone now. I don't feel right in dressier clothes. I wore a linen sweater in the same color for warmth, but it truly was not needed. The bra is not the right size, but nursing bras are tough support wise.

It's a very pretty dress. I LOVE it on you.

That said, I do find it a tad casual for a wedding though. I am used to you being more dressed up. This is something you would wear in a casual setting. Does that make sense?

I am going to be WAY too personal here so I apologize in advance if I overstepped the bounds. I think the dress has a lot of potential and wonder if the bra you are wearing could be a factor for it not getting unanimous approval. Some bras spread the tissue out a bit and others give a more forward projection. I think with the draping a more front and center fitting bra would allow the dress to drape more cleanly on the sides and would totally change the dress from pretty nice to pretty stunning. You might also try loosening the tie just a bit for a slightly softer look.

As I said, the dress looks very nice on you but a few little tweeks could make it outstanding. Just my opinion though. :)

I have mixed feelings in the sense that there are likely dresses out there that would do you more justice, but I agree with Firecracker that the summery color, and not white, so great for summer wedding, and breezy style should be taken as part of the dress's purpose, that it's not a "killer" date night dress but may fit your needs right now, where other dresses simply won't. Good accessories, skewed toward being more structured and dressy (not overly formal, but keeping it from looking like just a casual outfit) will help. This may also be one of those items that is better IRL when there is motion. And at some point for me it just becomes a big hassle to keep looking rather than focus on finalizing the outfit, especially since it's likely whatever you get will not be intended as your "forever dress". I would need a wrap, though.

I like it! I just got a similar dress this summer, in a very pale gray. I can see what Archer is saying about the color and the style. But I like the super soft, pale look for summer and like the way it highlights your creamy skin. And while the style is not the most conventionally flattering, because it hides your curves, to me, the short length and sleevelessness add enough structure and make the whole look JFE.
I would be leery of sleeveless in Seattle (ha ha!), but you could always add a wrap if needed.

Jeneva - I have to be honest and say it doesn't do you justice. You do such a beautiful hair and make up job and you look fantastic in dramatic and deep colours. I think this washes you out and I think it cuts you in half.
Does that beautiful pink and purple long shirt that you wore with hot pink capris and long dark jacket - does that still fit or work.
I know you must be getting frustrated looking for a dress by now - SYC. You are gorgeous remember.

Well, you know I love this lilac beauty on you. I have no suggestions, really, only a couple of questions: have you thought about whether you might need a wrap of some kind? Not sure whether you will be in air conditioning, evening breezes, etc. Also, I'm assuming that you are wearing nude underwear under the dress in the photo? Nothing wrong with that, but if you have a white slip, you might give it try to see if you like the brightening effect it will have under that delicate color. Beyond that, have fun and feel pretty!

Hi again! Thoughts on this dress, please? I plan to wear it to a wedding or three. I love the color and fabric, and the style "in theory". I've posted it before with worse photos. Do these better photos help evaluation? I realize I've got the waistline a bit bunched. Would live to get a feel for the general reaction and ideas for improvement. I plan to wear a silver cuff and matching chandelier earrings.
