I love the lavender for the wedding; it seems just right. The white dress is pretty, too, and I agree with Rachylou that it may not be too big. (The fit on the model is also oversized, so I'm assuming the loose fit is intended.) Have you tried the white dress with a long, narrow-but-slouchy v-necked cardigan? I think a long navy silk or cotton cardigan (and a long rope of pearls or chains) would give this dress the look of 1920s resort chic--and would create that elongating, slimming, column of color we all love.

I see your point Jenava. Honestly, I love that dress. And I don't use the word 'love' lightly when it comes to white. Something about that dress is so incredibly feminine and romantic that I love it...and I see it as a very versatile piece. Dress it funky like Rachylou suggests, or wear with pretty sandals, scarf, hat and oversized tote. I see it worn in a plethora of ways!

But if you're afraid it'll be too too large by next year and the price doesn't justify using it just for the year, reconsider keeping it. To me, the mere fact that the waist can be adjusted to fit you makes it a winner. And the vertical pleats of the skirt will always keep the bottom structured and streamlined. Personally I like a lose slouchy top over a skirt like that, but that's just me.

Maneera, I bought it because I loved the look and it was 60% off! Rachylou, I am pretty good at slouching, but I think I smile too much to pull off the hipster look. I do have a pair of Frye oxfords that are undainty I could try it with. Ok, I was going to return both dresses and by workout clothes and a sweater at NAS...now I'm considering keeping both. Problem is, if I lose 20 or 30 pounds by next year the white one will almost certainly be ridiculously large. Hm.

Thanks, ladies. This color is actually one of my better shades, and I have an Anna Beck silver cuff and matching chandelier earrings.

I don't know that the white dress is too big - at least not for the hipster milkmaid look. But you have to wear old lady shoes with it... And slink a little. Don't know if that's quite you...

Lavender is great for the wedding and would look soft and beautiful with the right accessories.

I like the white dress a lot. The floaty pleated skirt looks fresh and summery. I wouldn't bother that it's slightly large because you can shape the waist. I would wear it with a large printed scarf to add a hint of color to the front, a large bag and comfy sandals. Did you buy it for a particular occasion? Or just want to wear it casually?

I love the lavender on you and agree the white is too big or perhaps just not as beautiful on you as the first one.

Jenava: Love the first dress! The color is soft and elegant, and the fit has just the right amount of ease. I think the accessories will make it sing for the wedding (I do like to sing at weddings, hee!).

Love the "I can just get a boob out." That's keeping fashion real! I remember those days well!

Yes I think that is the right way to go.

I think it would look soft and elegant with silver accessories.

It is hard with the lighting but if the colour suits your face I would go with it. Most people look at your face and with a new baby a flattering colour is the most important thing as I am sure you are having sleepless nights at times :)

Agreed, I hesitated to post the front photo for that reason. Was planning on silver jewelry and a low heel of some sort, probably a beige gladiator sandal.

I find it very hard with floaty dresses to given an opinion because they look better in motion. I like the dress from the side angle, from the front I am more on the fence....but I know from experience that it probably looks better in real life.

How are you going to style it? Keep with cool light colours or contrast?

I purchased this Vince dress on sale. I love the fabric (polyester, which will be better than silk for washing out stains), the color, and the style (I can just manage to get a boob free for breastfeeding ). I just don't know if it's flattering enough. Thoughts? The wedding will be outdoors and I want to be comfortable.

I also purchased the white Vince dress, but I bought a large and should have gotten a medium and now it's sold out. Posting a pic here for verification that it's too big. I'm not wearing a camisole under it, so the boob pockets stand out more than they should. It unbuttons, so would be great for nursing in and it's also not silk.
