I'm not sure I can grow them here, but I might have to look into it. But Saturday and Sunday afternoon I just wore a simple red knit dress from Amazon. I was doing a lot of sewing and housework so it was easiest. </p> <p></p> <p>Sunday: We had a storm overnight, so it was actually a bit cool in the morning. The coral top is one of several I have from Kohl's, at least 12 years ago, that were excellently tailored for me. The skirt I made of white cotton piqué from a 1950s pattern. GIANT pockets.</p> <p>Rest of Sunday was the aforementioned red dress. I did lots of cooking, dishes, worked on financial/computer stuff, worked on making a dress form, and staked down my hollyhocks just in time before ANOTHER storm blew in. 65 mph wind gust!</p> <p>Today: New dress! I shopped the recent Modcloth sale (50% off already on-sale dresses) and scored with this green maxi. I have another in the black colorway, too. It's got elastic ruching at the back AND the shoulders. Extremely flattering lines for me, yay! And it's a good viscose challis, which irons well and can be machine washed.</p> <p>Wedding: Screen grabs from dancing videos, so these are the reverse of clear. The dress is vintage, a green soft taffeta. I don't know the exact date, but I'm guessing around 1958-1962. It's not a super full skirt, but it needs a petticoat still, so I'm wearing a pink one. Shoes are rose gold vintage reproduction from Royal Vintage, and I've got a white gardenia in my hair.</p> <p>In the first ones my dad is teaching me some specific swing dance moves. (He and my mother have been taking lessons.) The petticoat is barely visible in a few shots.</p> <p>In the second set, mom and I are dancing. She's in the blue dress with kind of a funny smile - we turned around and saw Dad videoing. The lady in pink is my cousin-in-law, and the little one in white is... first cousin once removed, I think!</p>
