I see your point. however, even without the jacket the dress has a very high waist that puffs out too much making my torso and hips seem the same size instead of contour the waist and flair at the hip( hope this is making sense).
Probably I will shorten the purple one. I know SIL will be happy with this color and make good use of it.

I think you should try tunring it into a high low before you give up on the dress. If high low doesn't work, than just shorten it completely.

Once you can see your feet, your footwear will have a huge impact.

I would also change the topper. I like Janet's idea a lot. Something softer, more flowy would go better. Or something more cropped to better enhance your lvoely figure.

I agree with the others about cutting it shorter. Also, I'm not loving that particular jacket and shoe combo with the dress. I think a cropped, solid color jacket with scrunched sleeves and some sandals could push this into better territory. Try some styling tweaks before giving it up!

I can understand, but are you sure it isn't the jacket? Conflicting temp. messages on whether it's hot or cold out?

Thank you for the support
I thought about shortening but I already spent money hemming it and don't want to spend more on it.
also my SIL just found out she is pregnant and i think this will suit her for the first weeks.

Sorry you don't feel fab in it. I would try the high lo or shortening it to the knee before the donation bin. I think the colour and the style could work very nicely for you if a bit shorter or with some leg showing. I agree with Kelly - we all make shopping mistakes so don't be hard on yourself. If you decide not to keep or alter someone else will get enjoyment from it.

What Ceit said. I saw a tutorial somewhere about how to turn it into a high low. Sometimes just that bit of leg in the front makes all the difference. Perhaps you can shorten the back to midi length too. Don't be too hard on yourself--we've all made shopping mistakes.

I think if you turn it into a high-low dress, it could work!

I am sorry you don't feel fab in the dress. I hope your outfit tomorrow makes you feel 2x as good to make up for today!

Hello again YLF

I am still going around but wanted to share my dress outfit of the day before I chuck the dress in the donation bin.
Because of some vacation coming on i decided to buy some long dresses and this old navy (and its purple twin)was one of it.
I feel horrible on it,and ultimately feel awful for having spent money and cannot return them.
Still I wanted to share because for me it is like looking at an accident. Or maybe I can remind my pregnant days.
I know that buying things because they are cheap always leads me into trouble.
Thank you for letting me vent on this matter.
