Thank you Mochi!

The thing is - I love dresses. But in my head, dresses equate to 'dressy'; which doesn't match my casual work-from-home lifestyle. It's only recently that I've realized that if you wear shorts underneath your dress to prevent thigh-rub and wear comfy flat sandals, it's actually pretty comfortable....even to walk my dog! So I'm definitely going to wear my dresses more often now. It's very possible that I completely go off capris and pants in summer once I start to feel 'comfy' in dresses. I'm hoping I will!

I like them all, and you in them, and am particularly fond of 1, 7, 9 and 10. The colors of the peplum dress are gorgeous but I'm just biased against that cut in general. You should enjoy ewearing your pretty dresses more often!

Great frock inspiration right here, Maneera. Thanks for posting. #2, #4, #5 and #7 are my faves.

Thanks Diane! To be honest, I don't mind the length at all. While I am absolutely not open to the idea of wearing low cut necklines, tight tops or strappy tops....I am extremely modest when it comes to my top half. But somehow, I just don't feel the same about my bottom half....sometimes to my poor husband's chagrin! I am perfectly happy with that length, especially if I'm wearing flat sandals.

I just noticed you asked about #4. Well I love the fit of it. The shade is a teeny touch warm for your complexion, but as you say you want to wear it casually, so I think a scarf tied loosely will look nice with a casual look and you definitely have the legs to look good in the length. Do 'you' feel happy in the length though? That's what matters.

Oh Yes! That's a fabulous idea, Di! I'll try that green dress with a pretty scarf next to my face and hopefully that will take care of the colour problem. You're a genius!

I'm joining the other ladies with my selection too. I agree wholeheartedly. Also they are all so flattering and good fits. I adore the spotted one in #1

I was going to say also that #3 perhaps isn't totally your colour, but I love the style and I could really see that pretty shade of green with a deep, hot pink shade of scarf next to your face.

Thanks a lot, Kiwigal. I'm thinking its my winter colour palette that's winning - blacks and blues.

What about the dress in 4? I bought that dress for a trip to Maldives. It's a little on the shorter side. I'm thinking that dress should be worn solely with flats and a scarf.

Thanks Maneera, I looked before I read Deborah's post and I totally agree with her. I like the same three ones she picked out 1,7,8 - all look wonderful on you.

I would hand on 9, the colour looks wrong.

I think 5/6 is also a nice summer dress, it looks very comfortable as well.

Thanks Deb. I see what you mean. Dresses in #9&10 are better suited to someone with a warm complexion. So is the one in #3.

I think I'll start wearing these right away and make some decisions. I don't wear dresses at all in winter, so I will need to decide what stays and what goes before I pack away summer clothes this year. Apart from the dresses in #1 and #4, none of these can be worn at home. I'm planning to bring everything I can wear at home into regular rotation from now until the end of summer. That should solve my problem of 'too many dresses' in a more natural way, as some will wear out and I won't feel too bad 'coz I got enough wear out of them.

I was almost expecting a dress challenge when the title of your post:)

Maneera you have some lovely dresses! 1, 5 & 7 are gorgeous. #2 is very pretty. I am not crazy about the colour of # 9 and I am a little meh on #10. Having said that, they all appear to be a very good fit and very flattering on you. It could be good to get them into rotation and see how you feel in them. I find that by the end of the day, if not sooner, I am pretty clear about whether something is going to continue in my wardrobe or otherwise.

We have a very hot summer here, so dresses tend to be my go to during our high summer. It's my winter dresses that can languish a bit as I tend to reach for leggings over tights and dresses when it's cold.

Hello to all you Lovelies!

How are we doing today?

Diane G's realization lead me to a realization of my own today morning. I do have summers, I do love dresses and own several.....so why the heck wasn't I wearing them more often?!

Then Kiwigal's thread made me go through all the dresses I've worn this summer and I realised that quite a few of my dresses have still not been worn at all this season!

Since I've gotten so addicted to all the fabulous advice I get here, I thought I may as well style these dresses and show you all.

Some dresses (especially the last one) are not in my new found colour palette. Do you think it looks horrid? I apologize in advance - these dresses were stuffed inside the closet and have come out wrinkled. The last one is pure linen and terrible wrinkled! I assure you - I wouldn't wear them in this state! But I didn't have the time to iron them and then try them on, so I hope you'll forgive me.

All inputs/comments are very welcome. I'd love to know what you girls honestly think about this bunch of dresses. If many of you suggest purging a few, I'd be open to that discussion as well.

Thanks for looking.

ETA: I took Deborah's advice to wear my dresses regularly. I'm wearing another dress today. It's a simple woven cotton dress with peplum detail at the waist, but has good stretch, so very comfortable to wear at home. But the question is: Does it look good? I've added it in the end - so picture 11&12.
