These do work best on small busts combined with a stronger shoulder line. I'm small busted (32C) with rounded shoulders and have to be very mindful of excess volume around the middle in this style. My lack of shoulders can cause the front cross over not to hang correctly.

Good luck.

Echoing Suz and Joy: Pleione stayle works on small bust. However I found that I don't wear mine very often even though I like how it looks. It is poly so to hot to wear in summer when it is hot outside but it has a limited use in a cold weather because it looks best on its own without a topper - and I run too cold for that.

I am very flat-chested and LOVE drape front blouses as long as they fit ok everywhere else. I have two of the sleeveless Pleiones and they come with a little snap at the top. I feel like the drape adds a little to the bustline, which I can use ( or at least camoflauges the fact that there's nothing there)

I am relatively small busted (30D) and I have a bunch of these blouses, some woven and some knit. I find that they work pretty well on small chest. I especially like the ones that have an extra snap at the neck, allowing for the neckline too look like a crewneck, like in photos 3 and 4 (attaching those tops in finds).

I especially love the look of the AllSaints one. Would love to know if that one works for the lesser endowed.

I do not think they work for me. I am not sure it is the small bust or the roundness of my middle section. To my mind, they work better for IT and rectangle shapes.

I have 2 of the Pleiones and like them--for me it is also the advantage of the funnel neckline, which is not present in all drape-fronts. I had to re-position the snap, which is more of a pain than it seems because it can be hard to get it right, to create a higher-crossover but still hang properly.

I had 2 goals, one is to wear untucked as featured, which I wear over my "skinniest" pants which are actually more of a straight style, or over a pencil skirt, but then Sveta showed hers tucked and that also worked for me with high-waisted pleated pants. It was sort of volume-on volume but the blouse is soft enought to collapse (so perhaps wiil be an iteration of Angie's spring "volume reined in" style report. Ha, I could see that with culottes, though I don't have the right color blouse for mine.
One of mine is the bold cherry and black stripe, which is then less overpowering when tucked in.
I would like to find other blouses that have this high neck and narrow V, not necessarily wrap/drape, because they seem to work better for me than standard collared button-fronts.

I still want want, too, Ummlila. I think the Pleione version is a good one to try. I had the one Joy has but sent it back. It was flattering in the neckline, etc. (I thought) but the print felt too bold for me. I would like to get another one but haven't, yet.

They're better on the small busted if they touch the sides of the neck, as Joy said, vs. being a true V neck.

The style works well for a small chest. Make sure it's not too big and a snap is a great addition.

I would have thought that they work best for smaller chests. My mother gave me a drape top very similar to No 1 and it makes me look pregnant. I'm bigger-busted and "drapes" and billows down from the chest.

I have the Pleione one. It already has a little snap in the front to keep it from falling open. I bought a size XS (for comparison, I usually wear a S from the Gap). The fit is still plenty oversized/drapey. There is some extra fabric draping on the bottom due to my small chest, but I don't think it is noticeable to anyone but me. Oh, and it is definitely necessary to wear a tank or cami underneath, but I do that anyway, so it's not a bother for me.

I have one and it came with a small snap, but I always wear a tank under it anyway like the models of your first 2 examples. I think that mine works with my small bust because it is basically a split-neck style where the neckline is touching the sides of the neck.

I am small chested too and they do not work for me. I've tried a couple, and put in a stitch to hold them closed, but then they lose the proper drape. And when I bend forward you can still see all the way in, which, even with a cami underneath I did not like.

Good luck, I think you have to try some on to see how they are. I do not do well with any very scooped or widely opened neckline, perhaps you will have better luck!

I've been thinking it would be nice to have a drape front blouse, for example like the one Angie featured in the ensemble last week or as in this idea: http://www.luckymag.com/style/.....dea-jan-19

Basically I like the idea of the cross over front and a top ending about mid hip that doesn't need tucking.

I see for example that Topshop has a few and Nordstrom has the Pleonies. However I am rather flat chested and I wonder, even if I install a little snap or sew the front closed, will there be too much fabric? Anyone have experience with this issue?
