Always good to allow room for socks. I think docs run wide so that may be an issue for you with this style if your feet are narrow. The laces allow you to pull them in around your feet. I find their sizing very consistent and once I knew my size had no trepidation about ordering online.</p> <p>SoftMoc carries Docs so you might want to try on a pair or two there to be sure of the size. There is also a Canadian website unionjackboots.com that is the Doc Martens Canadian online store. You may want to check if they have these boots there to avoid the exchange/duties.
