I cried through the whole thing, partly because I was moved but also because I was sad that I was watching the end of something I had enjoyed so much. And the clothes were amazing. I loved Mary's, I would have worn anything she had. And as far as Edith's short-ish wedding dress goes, I've seen pictures of brides of that era in dresses that length. Plus she was not a young " blushing bride". I wondered what tiara she would wear, I hoped it wouldn't be the laurel wreath one she wore for her wedding to Sir Anthony. I remember my grandmother (who was 18 in 1925) telling me that lots of her age group wore their long hair in a false bob because they didn't have the nerve to stand up to parents and cut it. So your look is right on for the era. </p> <p>DA is perhaps the only show I've watched just for the fashion--men's as well as women's--and the sets. What a visual delight! Last year a museum near me had an exhibit of clothing from some of the earlier seasons, and I'm really hoping they do another. It's fascinating to learn how they chose outfits based on their on-camera appearance, and some of the outfits look completely different IRL. I thought about dressing up 5 min before it started, so it was a mad dash through my accessories! Plus my faux bob started falling down, but it was only a fan party of one anyways!
