No advice. My Lincoln hates wearing a coat. I do have one, however, that I picked up at Superstore last year (ie home of JoeFresh but I don't know if the dog coat is JoeFresh). I'll put it on him in the super super cold, but usually it's just wet wet wet around here. I just put up with the grunge

That Ruffwear one looks perfect. I'm going to stop complaining about taking my fosters out in the (occasional) rain now! I don't think I could be a dog owner anywhere except California.

Here is one that you may like better from Drs. Foster and Smith since it has full belly coverage. I was considering this one and decided to get the Lands End one instead. I have a 15 lb schnauzer poodle mix.

Have you tried Lands End. I have 2 sherpa coats for my dog which are very warm that she wears when it is very cold out, but I just ordered a squall coat for her that is lighter weight and waterproof since her other cheaper raincoats just fell apart. They do have some warmer dog coats as well on their site.

I am attaching a photo of the one I just ordered.

I know exactly what you mean! So many coats offer no underside protection. I recently found, tho, a coat for The Lilypup that covered the chest. I'll have to look at the label when I'm home (tomorrow evening).

Will be following with interest as I have two low rider miniature dachshunds that have the same belly issues. I'm tempted to try to sew something myself because it is so hard to find good options.

This inspired me to do a little search and I wonder if you could have one of these made in a large enough size. Sorry about the sketchy site name. I promise the link takes you to a dog website!

My dog Reed is a petit basset griffon vendeen. He needs a lot of exercise so we are usually out twice a day even throughout the winter. He hates to wear a coat but sometimes it is necessary. He is short, so his chest and belly always pick up a lot of sand and grunge during the winter. I always have to clean his paws after a walk or run if they get salty, but I would rather not have to do his whole underside as well.

For the last couple of years I have been looking for a replacement for his Columbia dog parka (they do not make them anymore and his is now a rag). Most all dog coats look okay from the top and then they just have a wide strap across the chest that doesn't keep the dirt off. Obviously the "piddle parts" can't be covered.

But his old parka had a waterproof softshell exterior, fleece interior and covered his chest and part of his belly. Anyone have any recommendations for a dog coat like this?

The closest thing I've found is some kind of hunting camo vest but it is not warm and I do not like hunting. <http://www.amazon.com/Avery-St.....B004QTTWVO>

Here are pix of the Hurtta coa I got for him. I like it. he does not, which is why he looks so disgruntled.
