He needs a lot of exercise so we are usually out twice a day even throughout the winter. He hates to wear a coat but sometimes it is necessary. He is short, so his chest and belly always pick up a lot of sand and grunge during the winter. I always have to clean his paws after a walk or run if they get salty, but I would rather not have to do his whole underside as well.</p> <p>For the last couple of years I have been looking for a replacement for his Columbia dog parka (they do not make them anymore and his is now a rag). Most all dog coats look okay from the top and then they just have a wide strap across the chest that doesn't keep the dirt off. Obviously the "piddle parts" can't be covered. </p> <p>But his old parka had a waterproof softshell exterior, fleece interior and covered his chest and part of his belly.
