I went to the pet shop yesterday and remembered the Bento ball. Lilypup used to like those. I got her one for Christmas...

So I went to the Pet store but not one toy was available in both sizes, so I ended up getting some gourmet treats!

Kongs are great. We had a dachshund mix years ago who could REALLY chew, and her favorite toy that she didn't manage to instantly destroy was a blue racket ball someone left at my husband's work.

Do not let the dogs have stuffed toys that they might tear open. The stuffing can do really bad stuff to a dog.

Thanks all, squeakers and Kong toys seem like winners.

Vildy, the snakesaphone sounds fun!

Sam likes soft toys that squeak and aren't too big - so something like that for the Pomeranian. Target makes REALLY good dog toys.

We have a sheprador who is like a buzzsaw with fur. He eventually chews through anything. The Kongs work very well for us, though and we don't put any food in them.

The other thing that works is we have various sizes of what look like tennis balls, one a grapefruit size and one the size of a playground ball. He hasn't chewed through these yet and enjoys them. He also has these long flat soft pieces that have squeakers in them and they've lasted pretty long and we encourage him to play his snakesaphone for us.

Maggie likes dental chews and all her toys. Her favotite are those with multiple squeakers or “food” toys, those where treats an be inserted. Kong is a classic that is a favorite. You will see others that are similar. She gets peanut butter once a day in Gnarley...a ball with holes attached to a nylon braid.

My vet said you should be able to press into the toy with your fingernail, otherwise it’s too hard. We used to have antlers, but they were wearing down our Jack Russell’s teeth. Now we have Kong items. They have different sizes. Our Jack Russell is small, but our Scottie is huge (jaws and teeth, not legs )

What chew toys work best for a two-dog household - Murphy is a 11 year old lab and Coco is a 2 year old Pomeranian?

I am helping my son and his friend buy Christmas gifts for them. They play with them every recess and this is the highlight of their otherwise mundane day. The dogs’ mom said they enjoy chew toys. I figured I’d pull up a list of top chew toys but everything has mixed reviews - too hard and dogs risk cracking dental damage, too soft and you risk choking. What do you all like?
