Funny! I used to have a shoe cat. He always crawled in hubs giant sandals. My cat now loves warm laundry and any pile of clothes left on the bed. He seems to think he owns my fluffy bathrobe and tries to pull it off when I am sitting next to him. His favorite though is tulle. I found this out when I was making my wedding veil. Every time I walked away from it, I would come back to find him nested in it. He now owns his own tulle!

OMG! My 2 cats look just like Mo's! They seem to love warm jeans right out of the dryer. My black cat likes to sit in the closet on top of my boots and shoes, too. For some reason, he really likes sweaty socks right after I come back from a run. To my husband's chagrin, my buff cat really enjoys laying on his mostly dark colored clothes.

My roommate from college's cat is white, and he seems to be able to find all of the black clothes to lie on. We used to joke that he was really vain and new what colors would best show off his coat. My current cat loves to sleep in my laundry basket and my wardrobe when she gets the chance too.

@Janet - our cat does that too! When he was small he used to hug me and lick my earlobes. OW!!! Now he just hugs and cheeks me. Sometimes my husband holds him like a stuffed animal at night. They certainly do abandon themselves, right?

My cat is gray. Anyone with hair issues, I highly recommend gray cats. You can't really see his hair. It's a miracle.

My cat specifically loves hot, clean laundry straight from the dryer, in a basket. She's 18 years old but can find the agility to leap onto the dining room table if there's a warm basket of laundry on top.

I just have to chime in. I always joke -- and you must know it really IS a joke in this case -- that the cats are our little reminder that "there's a place for everything and everything in its place" is the ideal. After all, if I were to carefully rehang and put away or put in the laundry all of my items of clothing, the cats wouldn't have this temptation, now, would they? :-). It even kind of works, to a point. If I have a particularly prized item, I'm very patient about storing it properly. The less-prized (more workaday jeans, the odd t shirt) stuff, does sometimes get dubbed favorite cat bed. My bad!

Petco sells these small "cat donut beds" every now and then, they're plush and have a bolster all around them, and when they were on sale once, when I was fostering two tiny kittens, we stocked up on them. Now that the kittens are all grown up, we don't have to continually launder and swap these beds but our cats do love them. Keeping a few of them around in strategic spots has helped minimize the playing in clean towels or bins of unfolded clean clothes. But the cats are so cute, it's really hard to shoo them if they DO land on our clothes, for sure!

IK, that's so cute. Years ago I had a cat named Worf who made so much noise and was the most aggressively affectionate cat I've ever known. Not only would he head-butt me in bed, he would push his whole face into my neck and chin and purr and lick me.

Of course, this is the same cat who got adopted by me because when I picked him up, he put a paw on each side of my neck and started licking my face.

@Janet, if it helps, our cat snores too. And mumbles little "ohhh-mm-mm-mm-uu" noises. Because it doesn't sound like any other noise I have ever heard, it always takes me a second to realize what it is.

Our Siamese, Jill, must have an internal gps which navigates her to the softest, warmest item in the house. If I leave clothing out, even if she's on the other side of the house, she'll find it within minutes and knead herself a little nest and curl up on it. She'll snuggle into the basket of clean laundry, too, if she gets the chance. Adorable.

LOL Our dogs LOVE to lie on our clothes. Especially Tippi since she can actually jump up on our bed (Sophie has gotten a little too old to make it that far). And she ALWAYS chooses my husband's pillow or clothes to sleep on, and he hates dog hair on his stuff with a passion.

Needless to say, the dogs don't sleep with us. It's probably better than way. Now I just get snoring in mono instead of surround-sound.

Generally, no cats don't like water thankfully they're usually quite clean animals. One of ours takes a good 15 minutes washing to go to bed! Years ago my (sadly no longer here) kitty Willow had a really bad virus which made her incontinent with diarrhoea! We had no choice but to bath her daily, no mean feat as she was one feisty madam! We had to wear leather welding gauntlet gloves to avoid being scratched but she yowled, spit and hissed, though she enjoyed the cuddle in a warm towel afterwards and thankfully she was over the worst of the virus within a couple of weeks x

Dana, it's so much easier to wash a little doggie than a cat. Our girls liked water, and enjoyed the feeling afterwards. They were always extra happy and playful straight after a bath. We had to wash them weekly because they were allowed anywhere in the house, and got dirty after walkies. Cats I believe, do NOT like water.

Jasmine and Rosie (they were little dogs, and not cats), slept on our clothes all the time. Jasmine would jump into the laundry basket actually, and nestle between the clean folded clothes. We loved this behaviour and thought it was endearing. To them, it was somehow comforting. Our doggies were hypoallergenic, washed once a week, and slept with us on white bed sheets. Enough said.

Mine is somehow wired to think DH's deodorant scent is catnip! He does not like DH particularly, nor does he do this with all clothing, but if DH leaves a tee shirt on the floor while deciding between outfits, Hank will shoot over and rub his face in the armpits of the shirt.

IK - I have dogs not cats but they are bonded to me. Where I go, they go. Since they can't get to the laundry, they hop up and snooze on my pillow and my side of the bed. I think it's not just being the favorite I think it's being perceived as the alpha. You are the ne plus ultra of good things...food, treats, toys. I would take it as a statement of belonging. She is mine and from her come all the delights in the my universe, if that makes sense!!

Oh yes. Mine even figured a way to jump up on the top shelf of the closet last week to lay on the sweaters! Warm laundry or sweaters laid flat to block and air dry are prime targets.

Ha Ha.....Yep, Jake singles me out too. He is such a great cat that I consider it a compliment. :) I could do without the extra fur though. However, if we leave any dirty clothes on the floor, he uses it as a litter box! Eeek! Naughty Kitty!

Okay, weird question, I know. But I swear my cat singles out my stuff to lie on and knead. It makes me crazy. Clean laundry? There he is, on my stuff! (How he find it in the mess I don't know, but he does.) Coats on the bed? Ding ding!

Someone told me this is cat affection. Yeah right. I know for sure I'm not his favorite person - but if he's just playing coy, couldn't he kill those giant Austin roaches for me instead?
