Thank you for all the suggestions. I have some white mules, so will definitely try them instead of the boots. As for different coloured boots, I must say, I have lots to play with. Boots just work for my climate, and don't wear out as readily as some of my other shoes.

Smittie - I love tigers too.

YLF is so great to brainstorm how to wear items like this, I could see this being a wardrobe orphan, but I will keep playing around because it is a nice wildcard piece and should not be orphaned!

Love it. I think considering it a topper instead of a dress makes sense given it's length. I like the way you styled it but agree that I would change the footwear. It would also look great with black and red bottoms and tops.

What a lovely thing to own,I m sure that you will think of lots of ways to wear it in the cooler weather,I think that it would look great with something red and fitted on your lower half or a red dress.

It's pretty great, and I agree with LisaP -- I'd rather see black shoes or maybe even just these white jeans cuffed (ie, not fitted over the tops of the boots).

I like it, and the only thing I'd change is the footwear. I understand the bookending concept, but something about white jeans AND white boots (with no skin showing in between ) is nagging at me. Can you cuff the jeans? Or wear black boots/shoes for some great contrast?

BIJOU- it is a great piece. And I think how you styled is great. I also think others gave super suggestions.
How would it look not tied at all but hanging open? ( not sure which is why I’m asking- although it would minimize grand visual)
If you are afraid of bathrobe look how about you change out the ties with velvet or satin ribbon of same color as dress (I am not sure using a plain or ornamental brooch wouldn’t distract and detract hence obscuring ties- you still have rest of piping feature)
Just glad you are wearing it because it’s beautiful

Wow - you ladies are the best!

Sal - yes I did post on this when I bought it - but because I felt off with how I styled it, it remained unworn. You have given me some great options here.

JenniNZ - I will have to try the long black boots option because that could be cute and definitely black pants. I have some slim black wool pants, so that will be a more dressy option that I had not thought about.

Jussi - I don't have a black tube knit skirt, but I will keep my eyes out for one because I think that could be great - if I can find one on sale, I may have to add it to my wardrobe. I will try it with thick stockings over a slip dress, that would allow me to wear it as a dress without the falling apart issues that it may have.

I definitely think it works how you’ve styled it. The only other thing I can think of is putting it with very thick, opaque black stockings, or some thick red stockings. Or as said above over a longer black knit tube skirt.

Oh it's fantastic! The white jeans and white boots make your legs go on forever. Black pants and boots will be great in winter too.
Ponte pants under, tucked into tall boots, will look more dress-like as an option?

I think you have styled it beautifully. I remember seeing this when you added it (I think) and it is unique.

I think the only other ways to style would be with dark skinnies, maybe blue denim skinnies or possibly over a slim fitting dress - midi or maxi?

With such a timeless piece you can wear it forever though!!

I bought this wrap "dress" about 6 months ago and have not worn it because it feels too short to wear as a dress and the wrap style works well for standing up, but I worry about wardrobe malfunction when sitting etc. So I have been thinking of ways to wear it with what I currently own.

The problem is, there is so much that I love about this piece.
- it is velvet
- it has a tiger
- I like the style, it reminds me of a martial arts gi
- I adore white piping

The main reason I have not worn this, is due to the hot weather. But now our evenings are cool last night, I was going out to a friends house and decided to wear this ensemble.

I have black skinnies and black boots, so that will be another way of wearing this. I quite liked the freshness of the white.

I do realise that this piece does look a bit "bath robe" and I am OK with that - just as long as I am on the just flattering enough edge and not looking like I escaped from hospital in my PJs.

Comments and tips on what to wear are much appreciated. Jeans and a dress are a new to me combination - so I hope it works.
