The fit on the Kingdom of Style ones almost had me turning away, but after I got past it, I do really like the color pairing. I think darker, more muted reds are the way to go. Bright red doesn't work for me either. It is like two big "pay attention to me" pieces screaming out at the same time. I think that's the same reason that I like my black/white leopard cardi with a muted shirt color. A primary would look amazing on someone who is themselves high contrast (pale, black hair, blue eyes), but on me, it is a little strong.
